Way too much negativity on this thread. I doubt any of y'all know that much about this guy, and it shouldn't be surprising that our second-choice QB after Mitchell isn't as vaunted. We've had many QB recruits do well for Tech, even if they don't work out at QB: Jamal Golden and David Sims, for instance. Synjyn Days hasn't been a zero either. Those guys may have all had better resumes, but I just can't think of other former QB recruits off the top of my head. Demon Smith, but he's young yet.

From calling 5 radio games that Demond Smith played in I can confirm his talent.

he and a few other guys took a 0-20 previous seasons combined team to the 3rd round of the playoffs.

Golden was Player of the Year in Alabama and Sims had multiple Major D1 offers to play RB, so those aren't really good comparisons.

Days is probably a better comparison of what to expect from Griffin. Athletic kid who was a good, but not great HS QB.

This. Calm down everyone and watch him run starting at 1:35

He's fast. A lot better than what I was expecting based on what had been posted on this thread. What a bunch of offer-sheet whiners. Thanks for posting that.

welcome to tech! I like what I see, good frame, winner. He also throws PJ's passes very well. Hecould also grow into a WR too.

True, I just couldn't think of other former QB recruits. Let's look at this from the flip side: Have any of our QB recruits been zeros?

Edit: Jordan Luallen is the only one I can think of.

Wait.. We just took a QB who wasn't even a full time starter? WHAT. THE. F---.

Justin Thomas wasn't a full time starter Sr year either, but everyone is creaming their pants about his speed/potential because he had a Bammer offer.
Everybody just needs to calm the fvck down. It's not like we're turning away 4-5 star kids to give this kid a scholly.

I hear that Open Slot kid has some serious potential. Should have taken him instead of Ty.
