I was about to make a negative post...

Earlier this week regarding Reggie throwing the ball away to avoid sacks. If this had been the reason all year, Ga. Tech would have topped the all time NCAA record for sacks allowed had RB not thrown it away so much.

However, after the few first series yesterday when RB continued his throw aways, he finally,imo, did what he was supposed to and found secondary receivers. As a result Bilbo had another banner day.
The point is that if CJ is drawing his standard double team coverage, someone has to be open.
Bilbo has proved to be an outstanding offensive weapon. I am hoping that the light bulb turned on for RB yesterday. The one that tells him that the play is not over if CJ, or his primary receiver is covered.

RB did have a pretty good game, way over his usual completion %, something like 58%...yeah, especially in the second half he was looking to his secondary receivers. Prolly had something to do with the line doing a better job.

But I have to mention that he was responsible for our two TOs...I think the int was very poorly thrown, but the fumble was just one of those things.

I normally don't like sitting in the endzone, but the club area I was in Saturday gave some great sight lines to the two RB TO's.
On the interception, I thought it was pretty clear that RB had to short arm his throw due to the rush. Result was an underthrow.

On the critical fumble, he was holding the football "like a loaf of bread" as we old timers call it. I don't think he saw the guy coming from his left.

To his credit, and I think the protection was better, finding the second and third receiver was something I certainly hope we can build on. Shoot, he even threw to the Tight End!

On Reggie\'s INT...

Calvin didn't really help him either. It was basically a jump ball and the Clemson guy just got better position and was more agressive in "getting the ball". Not to excuse Reggie's role in that play. Just something I noticed.

It was def. underthrown. Clemson planned on a corner bumping Calvin and taking him underneath with a saftey in front of him. The corner missed his bump and Calvin got single coverage with the safety. All of Clavin's momentum was going towards the endzone with the safety trailing. The safety was just in a better position.

It's kinda sad. That may have been one of the best opportunities for CJ this year.

There's no way Calvin was going to get back to that ball. It was way inside and also way underthrown. One or the other and he may have had a chance. But where it was the best he could have done was to knock it down.

CJ went up to catch it when he should have turned into a defender. That ball had way too much air time and there were two defenders there. That pass needed to be 10 yards to the right and 15 yards deeper to have been effective.

I got a frontal view from my section and thought the pass was just horrible, thrown inside and a bit low, nothing CJ could have done. I think it affected Reggie since after that he threw one too outside to compensate and it ended up uncatchable.
