GT gets 2 of Fla\'s HOT 100

Evidently Scout.com thinks much more of Ga Tech recruit Ricardo Mattews than they've been letting out. Scout ranks Ricardo as the #51 'Hot' recruit from Fla. Laurence Marius is the #81 'Hot' recruit. Most recruiting folks have been making Marius a high recruit all along, but haven't been saying much about Mattews.
Congrats to both young men on receiving such high accolades from Scout.com & on chosing Ga Tech to get a terrific education. Use your scholarship well to get a degree. After all, u're paying a high price for it so come out with something that will benefit u for your whole life.

I don't understand that list at all. Matthews is intermingled amongst 2-star recruits @ 51. Marius is rated as a 4-star recruit on Scout.com, but somehow is rated 30 spots behind Matthews. How do they justify that?

A greater indication of how much of a stud he is is by seeing who else is recruiting the kid. If only Wake Forest and Duke are hot after him, well...

If you have followed recruiting you would know that to be false. Instead you sit here waiting to take shots at the program every chance you get. I would venture to guess you couldn't name our recruits and who recruited them without looking it up. Matthews had offers from Illinois and Maryland. Marius had offers from FSU and South Carolina.

Marius is a superstar the quality of Kenny Scott. Tremendous athlete that took over the game at TB, returner, and CB...he is a shut down corner that can cut on a dime. If you watch the film you can see it. He is in the Keys which is a pain in the butt to get to and see him. FSU tried to show him some love and he did not return the affection.

Ricardo Matthews is a stud and someone we discovered as a junior...and only because one of our coaches had a relationship with the high school coach. Our coach noticed the film of this kids playing LB, which was completely out of position for him. His HS coach acknowleged this and agreed they needed him there despite the fact he could be more noticeable as a DE in high school. This kids is a team player...not an individual. What the coaches like best is that as a high school junior "he had the body of an NFL player". This kid is cut. The only reason he did not commit to us early on is because we had to wait, wait, wait for academic clearance and finally got it. At one point it did not look good and he appeared Maryland-bound but then he was saved. I will also add he was one of those recruits that was extremely hard to get in touch with, which gave us a huge upside since we had a relationship with the coach.

We should be excited about these two kids. They will start having an impact by their sophomore years.

I find it very funny how so many stars are handed out right before signing day. I love it when it works in our favor.

You're pitiful bizzybee. You're either trying to be funny but aren't. Or you're so far out of the loop you should just be quiet. FYI, Duke and Wake try to recruit the same players anybody else does. But to say that's who we'e competing with for our players is just dumb and wrong.
