GT -7 vs VT (and Falcons-Patriots pk'em)

I don't think I'd touch that. I think we're the better team and are at home, but the way both defenses have played so far (and their inept offense) I don't see either team getting much higher than 20/24 points. So covering 7 wouldn't be a given even if we're in control. Not to mention their tendency the last 5 years to beat us in every strange way imaginable ('08 two personal fouls on their final drive, '10 Nesbitt breaking his arm, '11 Attaochu shot to the face, '12 miracle FG drive to send it to OT).

collegefootballpoll.com's line actually has it a bit too low at -7

Ugh, not touching this one. GT has won me a lot of money so far this year, but I don't trust us to cover by a touchdown against a team with a defense as good as theirs, regardless of how anemic their offense is.

IMO the only way we blow them out is if we force some turnovers and don't have any of our own. Even Bama had to have TWO special teams TD's and a INT return TD to put 35 on VT. Their D is legit.

If CPJ stays patient and doesn't throw the predictable "let's catch them off guard bomb", which puts us at a tough second and long, we'll win by 12 pts.

If we get to 21 points, I think I like our chances of winning, but I also would not take the chance that we cover 7 points.....

I was just thinking that we didn't have enough threads about the GT / VT line.

What's the O/U on this, I haven't seen one yet. Maybe I should start a new thread?

can you please forward this to the staff and then delete it within an hour? kthx.

this is a tough one- emotionally I want us to finally break the damned cycle and hang a big number on them - I just don't see it logically tough. Hopefully our D stands up big after last year and continues the stingy play that led to the second half at Duke.

If our O gets going from the start I think we win going away - maybe 10 points or so. IF we take some time to get moving though we could definitely see a 3 point win..

I don't think this game is going to be close.....I see us winning 42-17 or thereabouts. This game has probably been on our radar since last year's debacle.....I don't see Vad and the guys letting up any. I think our WR's have a big day (probably something that the VT guys aren't ready for).
