Yep -- that is how USC-East got to be a legit Top 20 program. It was totally the 70,000+ in the stadium all year for their 0-11 Holtz death march. It had nothing to do with bringing in Spurrier and overhauling the assistant staff.
I have no idea how Florida wasn't competing for a title this year. No wait what am I thinking ... TN. They have the most fans. There you have it -- TN national champs every year until they put more stands in The Big House.
I refuse to pay one penny more to the GTAA's coffers until fundamental change is made. It is the one thing the GTAA actually feels and reacts to from the fans. After the VT debacle this year (I think they just got flagged for a false start again) attendance dropped over 10,000 and didn't recover this year (unless you count the color red). The loss of revenue from 10,000 or 15,000 fans? You're talking $1,000,000+ a home game when you pool in parking, concessions, TECH fund, face value ticket, etc. That is why I said at the end of the THWG thread that PJ's biggest enemy is economic math. His contract is expensive. 15,000 empty seats a home game is even more expensive than his contract. I'm not happy. I intend to make that financially clear to the GTAA. That will effect change far more than butts in seats ... unless TN is winning national titles I don't know about.
