Is finally here....Not much care anymore. We've finally accepted we lose to the big 4 every year. We won the ACCCG and regressed every year after. Maybe cancel the mutts game and replace them with Navy, the talent level would be comparable and we might win half the time

I'm just happy my alma mater (Georgia Southern) is making the jump to D1. I'll definitely follow them a lot more than I have. At least they can beat an SEC school.

The turnout (or lack of turnout) by GT fans is ridiculous. You want a better football team? Support the football team you have. Spend a day at any USCe/Clemson/UGA/UF/FSU/Alabama/Auburn home game--any home game--and compare the atmosphere and support to what GT fans can muster at our biggest game that comes only every other year. We don't stand a chance at getting any serious football recruits unless and until we show up to support the program.

Do you think it is a coincidence that GT coaches barely beat .500 at GT no matter how good they have been elsewhere? Do you think it is a coincidence that as soon as a coach has any success at GT he gets the öööö out as fast as he can?

Congratulations for not caring. That's the spirit. That will fix things. I guess your next step is to hope we lose all 12 games next year so we can fire the coach. Then you won't care until we start to win. Then you won't care until we get into a BCS bowl or two. Then you won't care until we have back to back 10+ win seasons. You deserve to have a great football team because you sit at a computer and type messages about how awful our team is and they don't deserve your support. Well, you are right. They don't deserve the type of support you are providing. They deserve a lot better than you.

Yep -- that is how USC-East got to be a legit Top 20 program. It was totally the 70,000+ in the stadium all year for their 0-11 Holtz death march. It had nothing to do with bringing in Spurrier and overhauling the assistant staff.

I have no idea how Florida wasn't competing for a title this year. No wait what am I thinking ... TN. They have the most fans. There you have it -- TN national champs every year until they put more stands in The Big House.

I refuse to pay one penny more to the GTAA's coffers until fundamental change is made. It is the one thing the GTAA actually feels and reacts to from the fans. After the VT debacle this year (I think they just got flagged for a false start again) attendance dropped over 10,000 and didn't recover this year (unless you count the color red). The loss of revenue from 10,000 or 15,000 fans? You're talking $1,000,000+ a home game when you pool in parking, concessions, TECH fund, face value ticket, etc. That is why I said at the end of the THWG thread that PJ's biggest enemy is economic math. His contract is expensive. 15,000 empty seats a home game is even more expensive than his contract. I'm not happy. I intend to make that financially clear to the GTAA. That will effect change far more than butts in seats ... unless TN is winning national titles I don't know about.

So when we start getting pounded by UNC and Duke to go along with the usual 4, I can fix that by supporting the team more?
You mentioned BCS bowl :rotfl: Another year or two and you won't have to worry about any bowl. Open your eyes and watch the product being put on the field. Nobody likes watching it let alone play in it. Our most dynamic offensive player is a walk on for Christ sakes. By all means though.....your support will change all that

Please no positive posts today. It is all about the butt hurt and expressing it.

LOL. Sorry--what I meant to say is CPJ sucks, TO sucks, Vad sucks, Bobinski sucks, the Hill sucks. Fire everybody. Start from scratch. Go back to FCS. Take UGA off the schedule. I will never spend a dime on GT again until we win 10 games. No, 11 games. All is lost...:hsughcry:

This is what happens when you allow recruiting to fall down year after year. This is partly due to Johnson not being a good recruiter but mostly due to the god öööö Hill and their idiotic recruiting restrictions.

you forgot basketball sucks too

Acceptance is just realizing that we are not beating UGA again in the foreseeable future. At least for another 5 years. Probably more. It is what it is.

This absolutely factors into how USCe got to where they are. It also factors into how Tenn will get back to national prominence. When they went through years and years of awful, their fans supported them. Spurrier went to USCe b/c he thought he could win with support like that. Teams that pack their stadiums semi-regularly beat their rivals from time to time. You gain revenue and the interest of prospective recruits. At some point, something good happens.

You're either a Tech fan or you're not. Voice your concerns while still attending games and paying into the "coffers".

I used to go watch our D1 football team when we had NFL players. It was fun.

Modz this is bannable. Not me him. What kind of TurdJacket is this? This is a Georgia Tech message board. We don't care about your retarded GSU past. I could tell there was something wrong with you. Good as a ööööing dwag AFAIC.

Triple option is fun to watch. However we'll continue to recruit marginal players, simply because the kids want a NFL gig. We've discussed it over the years on ST. Accept it or quit getting upset when the big 4 continues to beat us.

The only relevant opinion Sid Bream can give is your thoughts on Murray's knee

You can't blame anyone for being upset at a loss like last night. The upset/vent posts are part of any message board. It is what it is.

Bullshit. Tennessee fans dropped off in droves.

Pj may not be the answer, but thinking pj is the problem is assinine.

There is no way no how that Uag has better coaches than us. They just have way, way more talent. Do they pay their players? Probably. Can their players read? Unlikely.

There is no way, no how that we can compete with them with ethics and the hill. The hill part is simply the most baffling idiocy ever. I assume when they send you a request for help you tell them to f off and get a clue about how important football is to many alums.

I believe that you've posted about as perfect a characterization of the situation at hand that could possibly be ... :frown:

If ugag lost to uf, usce, au, and GT almost every year, see what happens to their attendance.

It would suffer, but short time because the have administration that would fix the problem.

People giving money to the Hill are really hurting GT.

retitle the thread:

The Acceptance of (Better Than Mediocre But Not Football Factory)

..and we've got something to work with.
