The AJC had an article up this morning about 5 recruits who plan to enroll in January - a PJ record. I went to find the article to post it here and someone decided to make it "pay to read".

Anyway...I remember them to be the QB from Alabama, the linebacker from Lowndes, the young man from Callaway, and...don't remember the others. Sorry guys.

Sounds like good news though.

This must be some way of getting more recruiting spots in this year's class. I wonder how Lattimore/Smith's visit went today/yesterday.

Running back Travis Custis
Cornerback Step Durham
Defensive end KeShun Freeman
Linebacker Tré Jackson
Quarterback Matthew Jordan

This is no tactic to get more ships this year. We're are capped by the 85 rule. We won't even sign our maximum 25 before we hit 85 total.

Doing this allows the kids the opportunity to get acclimated academically and more importantly, play Spring ball. It gives them a leg up on seeing the field as true frosh.

The biggest advantage for GT is it keeps the factories from poaching them right before NSD.

The other thing is it gives them 9 months to build a more mature body for next fall. They are in the program which means

-unlimited suppliments
-unlimited food
-tailored and tutored workout schedules

Its the best situation you can have for a true freshman to make and immediate impact if we need depth somewhere

I'd be shocked if we didn't see Step Durham start in the secondary for us on Day 1.

It is a good move for Tech. Hope these kids do very well on the flats.

Finally!

I'll take a longsnapper and kicker on scholarship, plus the redshirts over self-scholly reductions.

ALL these guys have GOT to be VERY productive in the next 4-5 yrs if Tech is going to keep up.These are the cream I believe at each position.
