Come down off the ledge.

Regardless of what your opinion is of the hc, if you're releasing information on the hc not wanting to be here right before NSD, you're hurting the program.

You don't have to go to tech to know that. I don't think it's done because of personal agenda, I would assume it's more of a drunk angry post.

Btw my name is Oguzhan Ozdemir and I don't approve of anyone, ex-player or not, talking öööö about my friend and his wife.

"I've talked to friends and coaches across the country and they think he's an a$$ as well and can't believe we have put up with him this long."
I have independently come to this opinion myself, and I recently played golf with a lineman who played for PJ at Southern for 2 years, who also has the same opinion. It's time to move on, for the good of CPJ and GT.

Whose wife was badmouthed?

see mover's post about corndog. Maybe it's ok to call corndog a name, but then mover didn't stop there, mover went on to insult family as well. That's the kind of 'leadership' you are following off the ledge.

How would mover feel if someone called his family names?

That's what I expect from uga fans, not Tech fans.

There is that report function thingy.

I don't condone insulting other people's wives or family, and even from the brief interactions I've had with Mover through the years, I think he would regret personal attacks made in anger, though Corndog began the cheapshots. We are quick to lose civility on these boards, and say things to each other we would never say in person. If we all took each others' posts without a grain of salt, none of us would come off looking good.

All that said, I believe in Mover's intentions and his claims. As I mentioned earlier, coaches are simply mercenaries for hire, especially in this era. I would rather appreciate those who love Tech without receiving millions in return. And the rumors are far from unsubstantiated. Reporters from CBS and espn have said something is up. We will all find out soon enough, and then the I told you sos can begin.

So you want a head coach that won't ask for millions of dollars? You think that if Ted Roof sat down at the negotiating table for the HC job, he'll only ask for a few hundred thousand because he loves Tech?

Good luck with that.

I can't blame the individual coaches that are getting the millions of dollars. I blame the schools/teams/market that continue to set that head coach salary higher every year.

With all the bitching and whining about needing better recruiting, we better have helluvalot more than a couple million to get a high profile coach here. Otherwise, it's going to be the <Insert no-name here> experiment while we cross our fingers hoping for a diamond in the rough.

I find it amazing that anyone in the AA or Hill would share the academic credentials of potential incoming students (athletes or not) with former students, former NFLers or not. If true, the Institute has much bigger issues to solve than who coaches the football team.

That's a violation of federal law if true, however I assume Mover used information made available by the student publicly on sites like Rivals to make his comment.

Where did I imply that? I was talking about our former SAs overall, not one particular person. And yes, Ted Roof will love GT more than Johnson whether or not Roof coaches another game here. Johnson's loyalty is gone the day GT stops paying him.

Could we get Whisenhunt, Godsey, Calvin, Tashard, Wheeler, Bey-Bey, Curry and other former Tech NFLers to give their views on this thread?

I'm afraid most of those guys have too much maturity and professionalism to go on a drunken rant on a message board.

Got it. I read the bit about the "mercenary for hire" and thought you were talking specifically about HC salaries.

As for loyalty, I'm not sure why that is a problem either because I think that again goes back to the coaching market. How many coaches actually "love" the school where they are coaching to the point where he'll ignore all other HC job offers?

Last coach I thought would stick around forever was Urban Meyer at UF and look what he did. Can't fault him for not being "loyal" to UF. Are we faulting George O'Leary for not being loyal to GT cause he wanted to coach at ND? I'm not.

I'm not either! Anybody who does, is muck in the head and a dumbass

I did take a cheap shot at him. I still think it is irresponsible and dumb to start spreading rumors knowing that they hurt the program.

I've got thick skin and nothing some guy says about me personally or my wife on the internet is going to offend me.

If the next coach has to love GT then the pool of coaches has basically dwindled to a handful of guys. I would like someone outside of GT. GT's best coaches came from outside of GT.

The reason(s) CPJ MAY want to leave should be the focus of our AD, donors, former players, and fans. Without addressing this, we either send yet another in a looong line of coaches into the abyss, or we won't be able to hire one that's up to the task (and that's assuming anyone is, which I doubt). Hell, even Tom O'Brien rejected us after asking a few questions about academics. Jimmies & Joes >>> coaches.

One would think, a World class technical Institute could figure out what other ingredient in the experiment needs to be changed, after changing the same one time after time with the same results, huh?

So one of the knocks on CPJ is recruiting and we have a former player forming his opinion of CPJ and the stuff based primarily on the fact that we didnt recruit a player who barely started for The Citadel.

When do we stop the hero worship???

The former players who play in pro systems think CPJ is an idiot for running his offense and still expect him to worship them. Sounds logical.

Think it is based on results of recruiting classes and record on the field vs real teams.
