Tech's Academic Record for Athletes Under CPJ

CPJ has been quoted in saying that his staff recruits farther away from GT, where the name is less known. This was even part of the Walkosky hire.

didn't he say they were recruiting the Catholic school leagues in the DC area, where we got Attachou and Louis Young, because they were better prepared academically?

We will never consistently compete with the big boys. This article explains why. Like another poster said, I knew it was bad. But I didn't know it was this bad.

That AJC headline is one of my favorite things of all time.

If you read through the comments at the end of the article you will discover that many UGA fans see it as a badge of honor. "Only 7.5% of our athletes are illiterate, no problems here."

7.5% of total. There are a ton of football players who aren't on scholarship (athletic). I wonder how many of those 22 'illiterates' start for uga.

It only takes a handful of 'difference makers' to change the outcome of a season. Give CPJ 2 or 3 of those difference makers on offense and we're on our way to 10 win seasons and holding par with UGA.

I went back to read the comments section and can no longer find the article. Maybe it was determined how stupid the headline was?

How in the hell do we beat UNC so much?

Good question. According to all the recruiting sites, UNC has outrecruited us every year. Butch Davis was pulling in quite a few 4* and even a couple of 5* recruits during his time there before the scandal.

You've got to love this headline from the AJC:

Report: UGA athletes among the least illiterate

The picture caption :bowrofl:

Probably several, especially on D. How would illiterates get in otherwise?

Article says 22 of the football players were illiterate over the period. Avg SAT (verbal and math only) 941 for ALL athletes.
