GTCrew4b Thoughts on Improving the Fanbase Vol. 3

This is where I'm at, except I blame the Hill as much if not more than the coaching (i.e., I don't think we should be firing CPJ). I'll always pull for GT and barring a few more MTSU performances I'll always buy season tickets just out of loyalty, but I'm not contributing anything above that to an organization that doesn't give a öööö about athletics and doesn't know öööö about marketing its athletic brand.

When GT demonstrates the willingness to play by the same rules as its competition and stop handicapping itself, I'll donate more money.

The decisions to compete at an even level are not made by the AA. Your money is being withheld from the wrong people. It would be like withholding money from Mexico in protest of Cuba.

That's true, but why would I give more money for a product that I know is not going to meet my expectations?

Until GT undergoes systemic changes in regard to how it perceives athletics, it's not worth my money (and increasingly of late, my time, which is even more valuable).

Play by the same rules? Do you mean things like over-signing, ignoring academics, cam newtoning? I think GT decided quite some time ago that winning wasn't the most important aspect of the game. That's not to say that you should support the aa if you don't want to or that there aren't changes that can or should be made, but I think there are things that come before winning.

Forget about our higher academic standards for student athletics. Our Fanbase won't get better until we dumb down our academic standards for all students. Until every moron in the state of Georgia can get a degree at Tech we will never have a fan base to match Georgia's.
