Are we the most miserable fanbase?

I can't think of a more perpetually unhappy fanbase in all of college sports. We've come to expect painful defeats in both football and basketball, and each year seems like innovation on the previous year's misery (e.g. UGA double overtime game this year). Just when you think it couldn't get worse--wrong. It is truly as if God hates us.

Has any other school been so miserable for so long?

No, you guys just think and over analyze EVERYTHING.

Name a school with more terrible close losses over a number of years. Who has lost to their rival 10 out of the last 11 or whatever. Who has had their one year of success rescinded.

It seemed for awhile either basketball or football would step up....now they both suck. Almost like we are fielding teams in these sports as a requirement, not as a competitor.

Right off the top of my head: Kentucky in football. Didn't they lose to Tennessee like 20 something years in a row?

Well all those boats and hos have yet to buy Miami even a coastal division title, so there is that. I think duh u folks are the most miserable...they just hide it better than us.

Michigan?

I think Michigan's and ND's fanbases are more perpetually unhappy because they have much more historical success than us, but now they are almost nearly as limited in what they can do. They both struggle with a relative dearth of talent in their local areas. Essentially only the Chicago area and Ohio produce much talent and many of the top recruits go to warmer climates, while few top-tier recruits from warm clients go up north (With, ahem, one clear exception). It used to be recruits from the South would actually go up to ND, Michigan or tOSU because only those schools guaranteed play on TV, but now all schools are on TV. Also, ND has similar academic requirements and Michigan has some academic requirements as well.

I would guess Miami has been a very unhappy fanbase as well since they lost to tOSU, not that I feel sorry for them.

Of course, all these schools have only been hurt in the last 10 years or so. If you go back to 1990, I don't know if there's any school that has a more unhappy fanbase than GT. What other school has such an unequal rivalry and puts so much into that rivalry? Our rivalry with Georgia is not Vanderbilt's "rivalry" with Tennessee. We have a long history of really, really caring about the game and other than maybe UGA-Florida until recently, can't think of a school that has had less success. Perhaps Michigan-tOSU if tOSU keeps closing their state's recruits to Michigan.

most unhappy fanbase has got to be the Washington Generals fans. I mean they lose EVERY GAME, and not only that, the other team gets to cheat and they end up looking like fools.

sucks to be them.

even their logo has them getting posterized by their main rival

They are just one or two good recruiting classes away from being a contender.

Nowhere near. The worst fanbase is in the SEC, no doubt. Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Tennessee, or LSU

These are solid points.

Georgia. They always think they have the next Herschell and they were just 5 yards away from a National Championship!!!!!! Plus, that one year they should have been in the National Championship game because something about LSU was one year or something like that....blah...blah...
