I would wager that he gets 2 games suspension, and no games vacated. This may have zero impact on the dwags' season.

Losing two more SEC games effectively ends their chances at winning the east. So not "zero impact".

That article is so full of fail.

Irreplaceable? I mean the guy is very, very, very good, but he got replaced all the time this year during games. The Chubb kid has several hundred yards. How far behind Gurley is he in ypc? Georgie has a good OLine. There will be room to run.

Teams usually vacate wins because they can't go back to a season already played and change things.

I believe in the current season those would be forfeits not vacates meaning the teams they beat now add a win and the dwags add a loss

Chubb is no Gurley and is a frosh and does not supposedly know the whole offense. plus who will spell Chubb?

Gurley is irreplaceable, he is one of the top 3 backs in the nation.

Um, Gurley has nearly 800. Chubb might have 300. The Internet is your friend.

Respectfully, I don't think that's correct. The player gets punished for the benefits, but I think the vacating of wins is tied to how long the institution knew about the benefits before notifying the NCAA and suspending him. Someone can correct me if they have a link, but isn't that why we had to vacate so many wins in 2009?

The big possibility here IMO is whether the autographs go back to before the season. At the beginning of camp, players sign an NCAA document saying they know of no violations at that time. If the autograph money predates that, then Gurley has mislead the NCAA and he can get canned for the season. That's what happened to Dez Bryant in '09.
I believe you're right . In 09 the NCAA said we should have self suspended Thomas and then applied for reinstatement, as I assume U[sic]GA is going. We had to forfeit the games for which we knew about the violation but didn't report it.

I think this also happened to Calvin several times inadvertently. He would sign something (not for money), it would get sold, GTAA would find out about it, report it to the NCAA, and nothing would happen.

It's not hard to avoid punishment from the NCAA for stuff like this. You just have to do their dance.

Vacated wins aren't losses.
Hmmmm. This is true. How the pux will the SEC handle this.

I assume they wrote the rules such that the SEC-east is won by the team with the most wins, not by best percentage. If not, they could have a mess on their hands.

Still, couldn't, wouldn't UT and Vandy petition for the win? Tennessee for sure could make a hell of a case that they wouldve won that game.

The SEC has a vested interest in maximizing bowl eligible teams. Wouldn't they prefer to declare the games forfeited versus vacated? Is that an option?

Dont be an ass. I know Chubb has mid 200s, 260-270 off my memory. Gurley's number is about 770 without looking up the exact number.

So Gurley is reasonably being replaced at least a quarter of the time by Chubb. Already.

My stalker brings up backups, as if Gurley's irreplacable based on the quality of the third stringer. By that criteria, 95% of college football players are irreplaceable.

I expect Georgia to win the next three. Book it.

Chubb hasn't started. Most of his yards have come when TG needed a breather from wearing down defenses. They will lose tomorrow. They will beat FL because Muschamp. They may well lose to Arkansas.
