I can't remember how we rolled up Uva last year, but I think the BB did most of the damage. We're we running the TO (with Vad)? Or were the called plays?

Anyone remember?

Name Att Yds Yd/C TD LNG
Z. Laskey 16 133 8.3 2 32
R. Godhigh 5 111 22.2 1 65
D. Sims 12 107 8.9 2 36

we hit a few big pass plays to Laskey as well. And to answer your question about Vad and the 3O...no...we were never running the triple option with Vad.

This is the main reason the blocking, playcalling, and general team demeanor have increased this year. PJ has his favorite toy back.

240 yards to the bb. Hope to see that again. But I don't recall the play calling.

Two years ago was a beat down too. Was it the same defensive staff at UVA?

Tenuta and Tom O arrived in 2013.

Last year Tech had 507 yds of offense and won 35-25 despite:

97 yards in penalties
5 turnovers (but UVa scored 0 on turnovers)
UVa had 444 total yds (passing 43/62 for 376 yds.)

We will need to clean things up to beat them this year.

UVA coach Mike London was quoted as saying the following this week:

1) They spent part of fall camp on the read option
2) They spent part of the bye week (Oct 11) prepping for GT
(and this is the best one...)
3) Although UVa lost last year, he felt that the Cavaliers defended the Jackets well.

500+ yards and 35 points. I don't remember all the turnovers, but I doubt they forced all of them. I'll gladly take those 500+ yards this season again with their quality defending of our offense.

Mike London...I had faith in you turning the tide in VA from VPI to UVA. But you've done me one better. You've stolen the 757 recruits from VPI, and then used them to stink up the place at UVA. You have destroyed both programs which was more than I could possibly imagine.

They'll hit us in the backfield more than most teams do, and probably create some risky ball exchanges with their blitzing.

On the other hand, if they totally miss with a blitz, we'll be off to the races. I'm excited about the possibility of getting Snoddy/Zenon/Thomas in space this weekend.

It's true. He stole two Top 10 overall recruits (both from VA) at DT and DB a few years ago. VT recruiting is getting beat in the state of VA and it's showing on the field. Their D is still good, but not elite like it used to be. And their offense is in shambles without a 5* QB/RB combo.

Praying that UVA finally beats VT this year and that's enough for London to keep his job.

It makes me sad how the 2012 and 2013 UVA games are just voids in my memory, but I remember exactly what happened with VT/UM/UGA in 2012 and 2013. Unless it's a huge win like UGA 2008, the losses stick with you more than the wins.

I remember that we had 200+ yards of offense after our first 4 plays from scrimmage.

Yeah, the same thing happened to me with Syracuse last season. We steamrolled them, and I had completely forgotten about it until EDSBS made some reference to it earlier this year.

We had 150 yards and 2 TDs on our first 3 plays (50 ypp). Maybe I'm making this up, but right before our 3rd drive began I think the announcers said something like "Well Tech is averaging 50 yards per play right now, that's going to be a tough pace to keep up (laughter)." 10 seconds later Tevin lifted the average with a 60 yard run.

2013 highlights.

Yeah, what he posted.
