Stay Classy dwags

This type of class isn't reserved for Athens. I had 2 dwag "fans" try and pick a fight with me in a bar in Atlanta Saturday night because I was wearing Tech gear.

Jacketfan, sounds like living in Athens is getting to your head. I have definitely heard of stories like reddit op's. Athens townies might be nicer people but uga fans are ööööing horrible, we all know that. It's still a ööööing cesspool. You need to get your ööööööö mind rite.

Punch'em in the mouth :squint:

I walked past them at one point and one of them tried to throw a shoulder at me, which I brushed off. Then when he yelled how 'bout them dogs, I responded with a piss on 'em. He called me a ööögot, and when I asked him to repeat that while getting in his face, he tried to throw a punch, so I just put him in a headlock. It was all broken up in a matter of seconds and they got tossed from the bar.

Unless you got in a few Nolan Ryan style punches while he was in a headlock, CSB.

I once had a dwag fan bark in my face. I hit him with a stun gun, tied him up, took his keys, and put him in the trunk of his car. I then drove his car to an abandoned parking lot and set it on fire.

I hope he learned his lesson.

no car has a truck in it...I'm calling bs on this story, but you had me going unitl my second read.

I went to Athens in 2006 and 2008. Both times I had obscenities yelled at me. More so in 2006 because we lost. My experiences were no where as bad as that Reddit post though.

Regardless, the awesome feelings of 2008 can never be topped, so I have decided not to go back to Athens for games.

I don't even like attending UGA games at home because the fans are even worse when they are on our campus.

Best fan experience: NC State, Iowa, Clemson

Worst: Miami & UGA

There's a reason I don't go to games in Athens anymore. It has less to do with Trashgate and more to do with bottles flying at ladies' heads. They love to mock Tech's campus because they feel scared when they see a homeless guy with a tin cup on the North Ave bridge, but I have never felt more responsibility to look after girls in my group than when I was in Athens. Until they clean up their act at a young-adult level, I'll settle for sending my goodwill to my team through a cable box.

I believe the story. Your experience in Athens is controlled by where your seats are and how you get back to your car. If you sit near alumni and walk near alumni tailgates to leave, you'll generally be ok. There are areas of that stadium though that must be block seating for trailer parks and Honey Boo Boo's relatives. Sit there or wander through their tailgate on the way back and you'd better be ready.

Pretty much this. It all depends. There are "good" areas where the majority are alumni or friends of alumni, and the worst that might happen is you get barked at a little bit or you get a little trash talk on the way back to your car. But there are other areas... And watch out. If you hear banjo music, just keep GOING!

i didn't know going to a bar with gtbigbear was like going to a bar with chuck norris.

I was in Athens for the Auburn game, wearing Auburn colors, after the tech game ended of course. We had some over the line trash talking while waiting in line to get some subway from a group of girls, which was mainly laughed off. Had trash thrown at us in one bar. Dealt with a few ass holes in the same bar, almost leading into a fight, and witnessed quite a few other UGAg fans just being plain ass holes throughout the night.

The night wasn't bad for our group, but it probably helped that it was a decent sized group of mixed fans.

I'll see how that changes in a couple of weeks though.

It's always the women that start öööö. I've been sucker punched around 3 times in my life, and two of them were UGA female fans who could dish it out but couldn't take it. They start trouble and escalate to violence without regard, because they know that 9/10 men won't hit them back.

I've only been to 1 Tech-UGA game, and it was at BDS in 2011. I don't recall any kind of negative experience with any UGA fans. Granted that game was at noon, and folks didn't have as much drinking time.

The only bad experience I remember from that game was getting beat like a drum on our home turf... That was one of the years that it wasn't even a close game.

What would John Heisman do?

Agreed. I have two tickets given to me right outside of the student section. I was considering going, but think I'm going to try and get them sold in order to by some near the TECH section. I have an extremely short temper when it comes to ignorance and would prefer not to be barked at.
