..to the preseason projections.

Whether the Dookies win or lose tonight, I love how far we've come and how we've proven everyone wrong. I look forward to two more years of this QB.

Duck Fook and THWg!

I made some jokes on Twitter comparing NC State to the Starks, including a request that our band play The Rains of Castamere to begin the game. Nobody thought it was funny. Pretty devastating.

With regard to the predictions, it's par for the course at this point.Every year is the year the Hokies re-re-realize their potential, obviously The U is back and North Carolina finally has the players they need in place while we just don't have the playmakers.

Ha, outstanding. Every year we have been underestimated, but this is the first season that it seemed to make sense that we would be so low preseason, what with all the offseason turnover. Been awesome to see all the predictions (including my own) be completely wrong.

GRRM needs to sit his ass at a öööö typewriter and finish this thing (nerd rant over).

HA @ Virginia Poly.

CPJ feeds on this kind of stuff. Just like he said after the Miami game to ESPN - "no body gave us any credit at the beginning of the season, and it kinda pissed us off."

Not to highjack the thread -
CPJ, in my mind, would clearly be Jeor Mormont if he were in GOT. Lord Commander of the Night's Watch. Dabo would be Ser Dontos, the king's fool.

Haha, The Rains of Castamere would be great. I wish they'd do more John Williams too. The Imperial March was pretty sweet.

I'm right there with you. You can find my quote sigged on the profile of the dude with Jeff Bridges as his avatar as saying we won't make a bowl next year. I'm proud to eat crow on this one.

I agree on the GoT rant as well.

Richt as Hodor?

we didnt' in 2010...

2008 we had really low predictions.

I'm saying they didn't give us credit in 2009 for our 2008 season, nor in 2010 for 2009. My point being that I don't think it matters how well we do to the people that predict this conference.

Oh, gotcha. My bad.

Richt as Hodor?

Richt as the reaper of pyke, Balon Greyjoy. While he has some powerful forces at his disposal and occasionally makes good use of them, he's never able to build the dynasty that he wants. Right as he's on the verge of gaining traction, he always seems to fall short and his rebellion is crushed by the greater players around him. For reasons unknown, he seems to outlast all of his enemies.

In fairness, Virginia Tech was ranked really high going into 2009, we had lost to them the previous year, and we had finished the season getting blown out by an LSU team finishing up its worst season in several years. Even with all that said, we were ranked around #15 preseason, which I think is pretty close to where we ended up after the Iowa loss.

Both, the 08 LSU & 09 Iowa, teams had "NFL-READY" defenses.

I can't believe we lost to Duke. I can almost stomach the UNC loss, but Duke.....öööö....

Tech will still be picked to finish 4th in the coastal next season. They never learn.

They will say we lost most of our running backs and 2 starting WRs. We lost Mason on the OL and Nealy on defense. They will expect Tech to take a step back as 2015 will be a rebuilding year, especially with the tough schedule. A prediction of fourth sounds about right. Then, surprise surprise, we'll finish at or near the top again.
