Here's the way it is...

Great post GTL.

Let's worry about next year next year --we can win an ACCCG with all of these players next week. The time is now.

While UGA had some breaks (99 yard strip fumble) we also had a ton of breaks.

I think it's öööö near impossible to fumble the ball TWICE inside the 1 yard line in a game.

That took away two scores so I wasn't as mad about the bad call against us. (I was still mad though)

The gash in my wall that's about 8 inches below my 70" flat screen, where I threw my cell phone, tells me I was pretty pissed off.

You do realize that except for Justin Thomas and Snoddy (who may not be fully healed) we are losing every skill player who played significant minutes. Even if some of the younger guys are more talented I think we are seriously under-valuing senior leadership and experience if we think there isn't going to be a drop off

Sure but on the other hand our defense is mostly underclassmen plus we get whitehead and JHD back.

Hopefully any offensive drop-off will be offset by improvement on defense. From the depth chart we lose Green, Johnson, McNair, Nealy, and Travis. That's a pretty small group of seniors to lose.

Offense has been good all year, but the progress made by the defense is what gives us a chance to finish with 4 consecutive wins over ranked teams. It's hard to believe that this is the same defense we had for the first half of the season. Remarkable job by CTR and lots of hard work by the players.

Those two fumbles were both forced by the defense. ...Not accidental flukes like a dropped pump fake or all refs swallowing the whistle long enough for the entire defense to strip the ball long after the play was over.

Not the same thing, and I am pissed after reading the SEC blogger for ESPN write about how UGA choked away their win in the final seconds. The game doesn't go to overtime without an unforced fumble on our side. Look at the stats, the right team won.

It would be different if this defense had not forced fumbles and interceptions the whole second half of the season. It is clearly a skill that is coached and a part of the defensive gameplan to value turnovers over yards.

We were the better team top to bottom. I don't see how anyone could say definitely.

I think you can definitely say that U[sic]GA choked the game away (squib kick, letting JT run to get us into FG position, INT when a TD would have sealed it in OT), but that doesn't change the fact that we were the better team.

And not mention that the SEC officials spotted Georgie 17 points (14 off the "fumble" and 3 from a missed obvious hold on the fake field goal)
