Meet the AP voters who dropped GT in rankings after we beat Georgie

And once again, you don't respond to the substance of what I wrote.

Are you upset that I responded to your correction and fixed things, depriving you of the opportunity to proudly point out that not only was someone wrong, but they failed to fix what was wrong?

Look, you get credit for finding an error I made. I fixed that immediately. That's what people do.

Yet you seem completely rattled by the fact that I fixed the error you pointed out, and keep arguing that I made an error--which I've never denied.

I'm not. How many more posts on this are you going to make?
:dunno:

Again, not sure why you are mad. Not even sure what you are discussing. :dunno:

Sounds like we are on the same page on the thread subject, so that's good.

Dude. You need to let it go!!!!!!

(awe snap. Insert Frozen song here)

Thanks bro. The next time someone fixes an error, and there's general agreement about the underlying point, be sure to bring up the error several times after things have been fixed. That way the repost thread two days later can be cleaner.

I'll buy the brews if you promise to repost the original info in two days. But' I'm not drinking with you if you start singing any of that Frozen stuff.
I won't be reposting anything but I will take you up on you offer for some brews.
If we had enough brews, we both might singing Frozen songs. Sorry, I have daughters and those songs are implanted in the brain. :rotfl::rotfl:

So I'm still a little confused...did those two guys really drop us after we beat U[sic]GA? Because that would be pretty crazy. If not, you should probably clarify that they didn't in the OP because with the thread title and those first two sentences it still reads like they did.

why are there so many 3 and 4 loss teams ahead of us?

No, they didn't. If you go the page for each voter for the AP, they list their current top 25 and in the right column it shows what they were the previous week, but it's confusing in that the ranking listed for the previous week is the overall AP ranking, not the individual voter's. Therefore, SBP saw that we were listed as #16 last week and (reasonably) thought that this meant that select voters had lowered us in their rankings after beating UGA.

In reality, a few voters just didn't have much respect for us before beating UGA...and appear to have only marginally more respect for us after beating them.

This. It turns out that the nitwits who ranked us 17th this week, had us 18th and 20th (i think) the week before. So for beating a top 10 team, one guy moved us up one spot. When Auburn lost to Alabama, he moved them up two spots.

And yeah, I thought the AP website was, as it should, showing the voter's prior ballot, rather than the poll itself from the previous week. But then again, if the AP let those bozos vote, including hte guy who prints lies for Notre Dame (The whole Te'o thing), then that was a bad assumption.

Ed Johnson is still an idiot. He had us at 18 in week 14 and then after we beat UGA he moved us up to 17 and dropped UGA to 18 (from 7). So apparently he thinks we exposed UGA more than we proved we were good.

His SW bias shows as, as he ranks the following teams higher than anybody else:
Baylor, Arizona, Arizona State, UCLA

Eric Hansen thinks that Louisville is the 2nd best team in the ACC, putting them at 12 and Tech at 17. He had us at 20 last week and moved us up to 17, dropping UGA from 7 to 18.

I'm just amazed that any one could submit that sort of ballot. I can understand us being at 15. I don't agree, but I get it. But these guys have a lot of dumb stuff in there.

Check out Kirk Bohls of the Austin American-Statesman.

His view of the SEC
1. Alabama
9. Missouri
13. LSU
14. Ole Miss
15. Mississippi St.
16. UGA
17. Auburn

He has GT at 12

I think a lot of it is because we have a much, much better idea of how good our team is (and how good the teams who are around us are) than a lot of the voters do.

We know a lot about our team and our ranking matters a lot to us, so we're likely to have a much more informed opinion. They probably know little about us and don't care very much. Not saying it's right but I wouldn't be surprised...when you have ~100 voters, some of them are likely to not pay enough attention to do a good job ranking all 25 teams.
