No, da U does not have more talent than ugag. Even if CMR had another HC stint in him, which I seriously doubt, his Fulmer trophies would truly escalate in Miami!

This whole biz smells a lot like Wisconsin cheese. The only legit rocks to throw at CMR are: Fulmer trophies galore and signing Jr. High readers (not that the fan base gives a hoot about either), and finally one that resonates with the entire dwag nation---not getting the job done on D for several years. CPJ could have easily won 4 vs CMR, but then this thread wouldn't exist.

Just like Saban and Spurrier?
I like the Bobby Bowden explanation of the difference between college and pro when asked why he didn't move to the NFL: in college, you can win games by having more talent than the opposition, and there are many coaches (including him) than win by doing exactly that. That strategy can't be extrapolated to the NFL.

The other legit rock is that his teams have done very poorly when big things are expected of them. They only seem to do well against real competition when they are expected to lose. Only exception to that rule has been us, but that's cause they have the internal motivation for that game.

Hello, Nick Saban.

yep Saban is not a great coach he is a great recruiter. He pretty much has admitted such. Hard to lose when you literally have 4* and 5* players at every position. Plus his ball control offense he used in past years just wore people down who didn't have the depth he did that has kinda changed with Kiffin though.

or perhaps "it is hard to win when the other team is also paying its players."

It might be a weird role for a pro head coach, but Richt was good at developing QBs. I would like to see Ryan improve. And Richt runs a pro offense, so he wouldnt have negative transfr from some quirky college offense.

Mark Richt gets canned, Pruitt leaves for TAMU, Gruden comes in, hires Malzahn as OC, Smart as DC, and Les Miles as Special Teams coach. Harbaugh gets a nod as OL coach for the super duper jumbo spread option aerial assault rocket option attack, Steve Spurrier gets hired on to turn backup QBs into all SEC 1st teamers, and Jon Tenuta comes back to teach the Tenuta blitz to a new generation. UGA leaves the SEC to start its own conference with blackjack and hookers, Nevin Shapiro gets out on bond and takes the commissioner job, the first single team super conference e is formed, UGA wins 39 consecutive national championships and college football implodes. Amateur athletics are officially shut down forever to honor their insurmountable success, and Athens becomes the new home to the college football hall of fame. Sanford stadium is coated in gold and weekly worship ceremonies are hosted at 9, 11, and 7p on Sundays. A gator is sacrificed on the 50 yard line every week and attendees can get a free chicken sandwich at the Mark Richt franchised Chicken Fil A every Monday with a bulletin.

You heard it here first.
Sounds like the beginning of a recurring nightmare for Dwag fans. One in which this pleasant scene is interrupted when a 400-ft tall Paul Johnson squats and leaves an upper decker in Sanford Stadium, followed by every player on the team getting arrested for doing a drive-by from a moped, causing UGA to cancel a season and go the route of SMU. Meanwhile, Tech gets enough research money to stop getting state funds, goes private, offers expanded business and communications majors and gets every 5* player in Georgia for the next 40 years. A Tech B-back wins the Heisman and is nicknamed Herschel's Daddy.

Someone on Facebook just reported that WMAZ TV in Macon says tomorrow's game is Richt's last at UGA...

EDIT: can't find anything to substantiate it on WMAZ website or elsewhere. Someone must have confused Richt for Bobo.
