He knocked down the SEC regularly. He is a pro and he gets it. He says nice things about both schools and in our case he really goes out of his way to congratulate us for everything we have to overcome.

And Palmer was fine too.

Great night.

Enjoyed his comments--Keith Jackson is my alltime favorite. He had a soft spot for tech.

I thought Palmer and Musberger were terrific tonight. I'd say they were neutral except they never got around to take the Tech shaft out of their mouths. Musberger made it a point multiple times that GT is an academic institution and the athletes all take real classes and are actually student athletes. I though Palmer did a great job at breaking the offense down. Was surprised though at how complimentary of GT Palmer was, was not expecting that from him.

Do we have a link to the video of CPJ comment about "not having to hear about the sec for a week or two?"

"You are looking live....." is still one of the best football quotes ever..

Palmer is way better when Pollack isn't picking at him and getting him snippy. Good thing about getting a good bowl, good announcers.

I can't remember any commentator ever that focused on the "GT Reality" of having to actually handle a rigorous academic schedule (he even mentioned calculus!) and play major college football ... great work ...

Wow, ööööing awesome. Looking forward to the replay now.

Musburger used to have a place at The Landings just outside of Savannah. Don't think he's lived there for quite some time, tho

ESPN has some great commentators (for all the flak Herbstreit gets he is one of the best). The problem is that lately they've been hiring a bunch of SEC lackeys. There is no way a Pollack or a Finebaum should ever have a TV job. I think the good old ESPN commentators are themselves glad to see the SEC crash and burn the way they have because they don't need to listen to the trashy new hires anymore. I hope ESPN replaces the pathetic Pollacks of their crew with professional Big 10 and ACC analysts who don't sit around with their mouths filled with conference genitalia all day.
