What you mean to say is that the rest of the offense are "system" players. And CPJ has shown that he knows how to recruit the players for his system.

The key to the system is QB play, and I firmly believe now that JT is better than any QB that Bama had on their sideline this year.

JT is a "special" player and PJ has 3 years to find another. We would not have beaten 3 top ten teams with ANY other QB PJ has had at GT.

Tracey Ham and Greg Hill are the best that PJ has had and JT may be better than those two.

It will be hard to judge b/c JT will always have a weaker supporting cast than those two.

If the line holds up we are gonna have a sweet couple of years.

I think only really the A-backs might count as that and we don't lose all of them anyway. We survived the loss of Smelter because Waller is also good (and that did bite us in the ass a bit against FSU still). I also think we coached Waller up to play better as the main WR for the bowl game. Going to have to see if we can get another talent going at that position.

I mean the key to any offense is usually QB and offensive line play and not just skill position players (just ask Melvin Gordon after the Ohio St game). What we do have is a really good core to incorporate new skill position players in to, and having Snoddy and Andrews back will be pretty big cause odds are with these losses teams will not be letting Thomas run the ball often at first.

It's not hard to replace ball carriers for our offense, but knowing the system and developing into blockers are the bigger challenges. That's why we have so many guys who don't play much until their last year or two of eligibility. I think we might have some problems next year with a redshirt freshman at BB, and not much experienced depth at AB.

Well if you listen to the hype, at least the RSF at BB was supposedly our most explosive guy who we were stashing for his future eligibility. As long as he doesn't catch the fumble-hands, he could provide something exciting. What worries me most with the ABs leaving is our perimeter blocking. That seems to be the most ephemeral thing in this offense, and I don't know that we've seen underclassmen ABs do it well. Getting two back that had significant playing time will be our anchor against slipping here, but we need to keep them healthy and hope the rest come along.

That about the Abacks and the receiver position are the true unknowns, because it's not like the younger guys wouldn't of played because they sucked, but we just had such players in front of them that no way they would be able to get over them.

It's gonna be awesome seeing the "you heard it here first" wild card picks picking us next season to make the playoff, but I think we're a pretty long shot.

I will accept 7-5 next season, expect 9-3. And hope for a big time step forward. For the program. Beating the Dawgs in Atlanta would in my opinion make any season results successful.

I've circled 2016 as THE year.

actually PJ has already address that Bback will be fine. He considered burning the redshirt this year on Leggit but obviously Days stepped up big after Laskey's injury

Continued improvement on defense would be a bigger positive than the losses on offense IMO.

I think Shamire drops the rest of the baby fat and will step right in for Shaq. There will be no letdown on the line.

I expect JTs biggest area of improvement to be in the pass game. Lots of times this year he locked in on one receiver - instead of throwing to the comically wide open guy. Not bad when you have a Smelter or Waller making plays, but I think he will watch tape and see the opportunities he missed and it will offset the WR losses.

A back blocking is the only thing I'm worried about. We need more depth there badly. I'm afraid we may see some plays blown up that we didnt see this year.

We have a knack for filling the holes at A-back. We thought losing Roddy, Orwin Smith, and Godhigh would all be big setbacks, but we keep plugging them in. PJ has indicated confidence about B-back. Wideout is what worries me. We will have close to zero catches returning next year. It's Messick, Jeune, Summers, and... ?

Wideouts are far more important to this O than they get credit for. They won't get called to catch as often as in other offenses, but we really, really need them to come down with the ball when we do. And their blocking is often the difference between a 7-yarder and a long touchdown.

Looks like all of that O-line redshirting is finally starting to pay off ...

Definitely a lot of questions on offense but NEED JHD and Whitehead to get eligible.

Dennis Andrews is a baller at AB. Him and Snoddy should do well... also, I believe there is one or 2 secondary guys-waiting- that might be best served at AB.

OL should be good for a while..... If we get Whitehead and JHD both back, our D can carry some games with our deep secondary. Plus having Butker is a huge bonus

One of the pleasant surprises of the bowl, i thought, first impression, was Summers. I agree with yall that WR is mucho important and mucho questionable going into 2015.

After watching one AB in particular whif on a lot of blocks the past three games, I am cautiously optimistic about the group next year.

I mean the thing with the A-back and WR situation is the younger guys might be really good too, but the older guys were just so good that there wouldn't be much reason to play them a lot.

Go watch Harland Howell's Hudl tape. Half of his junior highlights is pancake blocks.

He's enrolling early too.

I also liked Jeune's clutch on-side kick recovery at the bowl:

Not only he has the hands, he also has 'the feet'. J/K, but he showed great clutch play there. CPJ must trust him enough to put him there for the very likely onsides kick.
