Do we have a BYE week before the first game?....WTF is that? I would feel much better if we had a BYE somewhere in the meat of our schedule. After UNC or Clemson would be a great place for that BYE.

Also, closing with VT, @Miami, then UGA is crap. Throw a scrub in there somewhere please.

We run the gauntlet this year. This is not a favorable schedule at all.

eeeeeehhhh I'd say Oklahoma @ Tennessee is the front runners but if both us and ND come out of the gate strong, you're probably right.

I figured with Prescott coming back everyone would have Mississippi State back in their top 25.
Is it too early to hope for the FSU game being on Gameday?

Georgia Southern no longer runs the flexbone spread option. Their offense is very very different than ours.
Doh.

I knew that.

Well, I still don't mind it, because Southern can be a real bastard to try and beat, and they'll be looking ahead. That'll be a fun game to watch.

we play 4 games against teams in a gold hue (Alcorn, FSU, ND, Pitt)
we play 3 games against teams in a blue hue (Duke, UNC, UVA)
we play 3 games against teams in a red hue (Clemson, Georgie, VT)
we play 2 games against teams in a white/green hue (Miami, Tulane)

I like playing Miami that week. They've been terrible at the end of the season the last 2 years. Wouldn't be surprised if Golden isn't even the coach by the that time. Blowing out Miami in their place would be a good boost into COFH.

VT has a bye before us? All that's missing is for UNC to get picked to win the division again.

Last time we blew out Miami and then played UGAg next was in 2008. Just sayin'.

No one has brought up the fact that Alcorn State has more than a week to prepare for us. :turbonoes:

Mark it down:

GA Southern will beat UGA, and so will we. Mark Richt gets fired.
The time-to-prepare argument is one thing, but playing GSU to practice for us will give us game film on how they plan to defend. One wonders if we could troll them by asking GSU to show up in shotgun formation as a favor to their old coach.

Everyone only gets one bye this year due to Labor Day being later.

VT on Thursday late in the year may be a blessing - get a bye and extra rest before Miami and Georgia.

Overall, schedule is a B+ to A- in strength, and it is nice to see we get level playing fields with most opponents not getting advantageous scheduling prior to playing us. I am definitely looking forward to getting revenge on FSU this year.
That will be a perfect week for me to take off and go hunting.

Hunt Sat-Wed.
Game Thursday
Back to camp Friday for the weekend.

Playing tough defenses the weeks leading up to UGA this year helped us rack up some big yards and points.
