Only 2 OL recruits?

Seems light, no?

Come on, the class isn’t even sighed yet. Typically the Board doesn’t start complaining about the 700 recruits that we should’ve gotten until the day after. The days before the signing day are strictly reserved for butt-hurt comments about people flipping and CPJ’s crappy recruiting skills.
That said – this year has been a very welcome change with almost zero negativity and a recruiting class that’s been solid as a rock. The lack of drama is actually making the place boring. I miss reading the apocalyptic threads every time a player is kicked off the team or someone commits to a school and we get butt hurt they didn’t want to be an engineer.
As for the comment – I think we’re stacked at OL for the next couple of years and we could afford to only take a couple. I think we got a future NFL’er in there – so all will be OK.
It’s amazing what winning does to a program. No more bit@#ing fans and we're seeing higher quality recruits. Granted the better recruits are probably due to CPJ’s better efforts and the increase in staff (not to mention CTR). Without a doubt the best class for Tech top to bottom in the last 7-8 years – I don’t care about the final joke ranking. Maybe no Calvin’s, but every single one of these guys has the chance to be a starter and contributor. Hell, it’s so well rounded we even have a white WR much to the delight of many!
Enjoy it now – past history tells us the irrational exuberance could be short lived. The butt-hurt futures market may very well be oversold and we could be in for a correction. I choose to enjoy the happiness for a few more months until the first fumble when people start complaining again…..

Only lost 1 to graduation, so our total number of OL goes up with this class.

We probably will be at the same number come fall. Indicators are O'reilly might be moving on.

I don't think he's bitching about it. He was just making an observation, unless there's past post history to suggest he's prone to bitch. It certainly didn't warrant a 500 word essay response.

It's gotten to the point that anyone who starts a thread asking a question is accused of bitching, being butthurt, or even being a Mutt fan. We really need to open this board to opposing fans so we have some legit posters to flame.

We only got the #1 Center in the state, too...who is 6-4, 285 lbs. Definitely time to complain.

Turns out there was a recruiting class last year too.

GET.

OUT.

You just think that because you're a bitching, butthurt mutt fan.

yeah I was just asking the question.. I feel better knowing we had more in last years class but in general you'd think that one should recruit more o-lineman than RB's but in this year's class we have like 8 or 9 potential RB's and 2 OL... if we get more next year it should even out fine

thats because we have few OLs leaving and a bunch of Backs leaving. see how that works?

We play more RBs than the teams "in general" applies to.

3 start and we rotate constantly.

A one-size-fits-all recruiting plan for every season? Sounds like a good idea. Let's put it on a government-run website to reduce cost.

we also play more OL than RB

look.. gailey got a lot of flack on here for not spreading out his recruiting evenly and PJ has cleaned that up for the most part.. im just saying if we don't get more next year we'll be awfully thin in 2 or 3 years... im not trying to bitch just trying to offer an observation sheesh

and today is the correct day to discuss it?

its not always the things you say, its when you might say them. you say you are not 'bitching' but bringing this up at a time like this makes it seem like you are
