Congratulations to Coach Johnson and His Staff

Congrats to all the Coaches, Looks like they got what they wanted and what fit for their needs. Schedule is tough next year but looking forward to watching them.

I'm glad GSU played GT at the beginning of the year and not the end. Go beat your opponents @sses next year!

To all the people who pulled up my past posts that were critical of Coach Johnson for one thing or the other, I wish I had never posted them. I hope I have learned from my mistakes and don't let my frustration show the next time we have a rough stretch.

I was wrong to post anything negative, and I'm sorry that I did. I'm pretty emotional about Tech football, and I need to keep my frustrations to myself. So, all the people who called me out were right to do so.

But I am very happy and excited about Tech football right now. I don't remember when I felt like Tech football was in more solid shape than it's in right now.

Considering what we did this year and the fact that we'll have more experience and quality depth next season, I don't think there's a team in America we couldn't beat in 2015. This doesn't mean we'll win 'um all, but we have as good a chance as Alabama, Ohio State or anybody else to win the national championship.

I think we're improving more as a team than our schedule is getting harder, and I also think having a harder schedule will really help our chance of getting in the four team playoff.

After watching this past season, I just think we've got a great offensive system that will get better, an improving defense that will get better, and more talent and depth than we've had in a very long time.

And, if I'm wrong and we have an off year, I'll do my best to keep my mouth shut.

Impressed - you don't usually see this type of post.

Solid post. But I don't think anyone was seriously hating on u. I'm pretty sure Ur in the Coit age range and so a coach cursing on TV and having the personality of CPJ prob offends u but my advice just get some thicker skin and realize 99% of coaches have the same personality as CPJ. Other than of course Chan Gailey.

We all post stupid öööö from time to time. Don't let it bother you. Just own it and move on.

It also helps to call other posters some names and insinuate that you've had carnal relations with their mothers. In no time flat, you'll be an accepted member of the ST community.

Who's mom was it that was into BDSM?

The gold standard, the seasons that made Bobby Dodd a legend were in the '50s

1951 SEC 1st 11 0 1
1952 SEC 1st 12 0 0
1953 SEC 2nd 9 2 1
1954 SEC 2nd 8 3 0
1955 SEC 3rd 9 1 1
1956 SEC 2nd 10 1 0

That's a stretch in history that's been rivaled only a few times by any program. Since then we've had some good seasons, but nothing you could call sustained.

In '66 Dodd went 9-2 only to be followed by Bud with a 4-6 season.

1970, Carson had a 9-3 season, followed by 6-6.

A long time later in '85, Curry had apparently turned the corner at 9-2-1, but followed with a 5-5 season.

The next season of success was the NC year of 1990, but '91 was disappointing at 8-5.

In '98 O'Leary brought us to a 10-2 record, but '99 was a disappointment at 8-4. The following year was good at 9-3, but considering the potential of that team, it was a letdown.

Chan's best year was 9-5, but followed with 7-6.

Paul whipped us into a frenzy by going 9-4 then 10-3 in his first two years, but followed with 4 Chanistic years until the stellar 2014.

If Paul can pull off a 10 win season in '15, with a brutal schedule and everyone gunning for us, we'll have reason to expect some sustained success and Paul will likely earn his place alongside of Bobby Dodd.

If we win 10 games next year, with that schedule, I would contest Johnson is probably one of the best active coaches in college football right now. Combination of schedule and unknowns on offense, I'd say 8 regular season wins would still be pretty decent, better than Chantastic but not greatness either.

For sustained success though, this class seems like a good step towards that, may prove a backbone to prevent dropping off after 2016.

looks like CPJ will get to 100 games next season. Other coaches with 100 games at GT: Heisman, Alexander and Dodd

Yes, and I think when we look back in twenty years, Johnson will belong in the conversation with those three.

What is as impressive as his number of wins is the stable organization that he has put together and the way he runs the program, machine like, all with the upmost integrity.

In a day and age where we have a whole lot more disadvantages than many/all of our closest competitors. Dodd had the opposite.

The way I see the rankings now. The top 4 coaches have each won a national championship at Tech. However, CPJ sits nicely at 5 with two wins over UGA, an ACC Championship and an Orange Bowl.

1.Bobby Dodd
2.John Heisman
3.William Alexander
4.Bobby Ross
5.Paul Johnson
