Miami already has 19 commits for their 2016 class :eek3:. All in-state guys. They had 13 before signing day for the '15 class. Not as many highly ranked guys as they usually have, but öööö that's a big class this early in the cycle. Only two other teams are in double digits - Ole Miss and Miss St with 10 each. I wonder how many will still be there in February after Golden gets the boot.

If Miami is this bad with all 5 and 4 start guys, then I hope they stick with mostly 3 star and a few 4's for the next few years. They'd be the coastal's equivalent to Wake Forest.

So they've shifted their philosophy to locking down the locals. That was what worked for them when they were actually good, as opposed to fishing for stars.

So question ... are the locals as good as they used to be?

Yes, but I don't think Miami is going to be able to hang on to them. Here is a list of the top prospects in Florida last year, sorted by Rivals rating. Look where they signed.

Golden's ass is grass (LINK)

If for some reason the link won't work, I'll sum it up for you: zero of the eleven 5* players in Florida picked Miami. You have to go way down the list to see players that Miami got.

A lot will flip even if they keep Golden but they won't. Good chance Golden is gone by the time we go down to play those bums. Could be scary though if they somehow sneak out a 10+ win season and hold onto most of em though.

The last isn't likely though I think, they rival us for the worst hand dealt in conference scheduling.

When the U was on top, they had great QB play and really good defenses. And pretty decent coaches. I hope they never get a really good coach again.

When Miami was on top they had lavish benefactors.

Also, at what point does fan nation strip the of "the U?" Doesn't really work the same when you're always lUsing.

Miami wrecked house in 2001 because half of their team that year would be good enough to go on to play in the NFL (40+ players, of which a third or more were first rounders). They have put a handful of QBs in the league, but the only one that was really worth a darn was Testaverde.
