Another edition of BuzzTalk Radio kicks off the start of Spring Football Practice with a sneak peak into what Jacket Fans should expect to see coming out of camp. We end the segment with a little perspective on GT Hoops given the shocking decision from last week to retain Brian Gregory. What does the future hold for Tech basketball? Tune in to find out more at:

One of the topics on the show was Golden's lackluster year (my words) at kick/punt return, and the hope that we would try some new guys out there like Cottrell. It is true that Golden had few if any long returns. To me though he maxed out the most important statistic: 0 fumbles lost. (Unless I am forgetting one?) The way our defense played that was crucial. So I'd like to see him returning kicks again. Reliable under pressure with the potential for a great return is good enough for me

To say Golden didn't have a good season returning kicks/punts is laughable.

He has a chance this year to set the Georgia Tech record for most return yards. He's had several huge returns in his career and has never really hurt us.

To take him off punt return and punt a Freshman back there would a mistake.

As said on the show, Golden was very "reliable" in 2014 but nothing special.

ESPN stats aren't "laughing" as GT23Eric suggests. I would call being the 93rd best returner in the country last year as clearly below average. This was a precipitous fall from 2012 where he was ranked 21st...obviously unranked in 2013 due to injury. But hey opinions and feel good posts matter too I suppose.

Maybe you are scared of a young guy fumbling. That's understandable but that's also a part of the game of football. Our run based offense drives more fumbles naturally over interceptions. I think better field position would be a welcomed occurrence. Can't always death march a team. Golden hasn't changed the game outside of having good hands but let's not make him out to be this amazing returner. Tarrant was equally as dynamic back there.
