"No chance" of going 4-1 against ND, Clemson, FSU, VT and UGA?

I might agree it's unlikely. But sub a top-10 Miss State team for ND and it just happened last year, and that was with only one of those 5 games at home vice the three we get this year.

Thing is, from that non-conference comparison, this team going to be good in week 3 like the previous one was by the bowl game?

Defense is gonna have to be either way. There's no excuse with so many returning starters.

Nothing terribly new or overly insightful. Need backs and receivers, need to get a pass rush, need to beat FSU and Clemson, need beer.

We're going to the playoffs, just not the CFB playoffs.

The NFC South is going to be outrageously bad this year. So bad, in fact, that the NFL will decide no teams deserve a playoff berth. Meanwhile Georgia Tech will have won every game by an average margin of victory of 124.3 points. Closed door meetings take place, rumors spread, then it happens - Georgia Tech will represent the NFC South in the NFL playoffs.

Fast forward several weeks - Justin Thomas is named Super Bowl MVP and Bill Belichick is in the ER after suffering a heart attack during the game. He gathers all his strength to utter on phrase: "assignment football".

"Assignment football"

12-1 with a loss somewhere other than the ACCCG has a very high probability of getting us in with this schedule. But it's hardly worth daydreaming about at this point. Even if we get to 8-0 (very unlikely), it would still be a tall order to finish 12-1 or better. One game at a time and don't overlook Alcorn and Tulane. I'll be happy going into South Bend 2-0 with a chance to make a statement.

this Logic is waaaayyyyy too reasonable for Stingtalk, even though I do agree with you. That being said:

15-0 BAYYYYBEEEEEEEE!!!!!

I actually like the way the schedule shaped up. Honestly, I think our most challenging stretch as far as the schedule goes is:
@ND
@Dook
Vs. UNC
@Clempson
Three out of four on the road against two very, very good teams and two teams that beat us last year- though I don't necessarily see them as our biggest problems this year.

As far as the more challenging teams go, the schedule was fairly kind to us. FSU is sandwiched between Pitt and UVA. Then we have a bye before VT on a Thursday at home, then we travel to Miami with extra rest, and finally play the Dwags at home.

No way of going 4-1 against Notre Dame, Georgia, Clempsen, VPI, and FSU he says. We shall see.

I'd put the O/U at 2.5 which is probably higher than the media would. I'd probably take 3-2 in those games right now if offered (as long as 1 of the wins was UGA) though - it's a gauntlet for sure.

It is a guantlet, but so was the end of our season last year and we did really well...love the fact games are played on the field.

Well, if we always play up to the level of our competition, what does it say when we start the season with a gauntlet?

New year, new team tho. We need to show that losses on the roster will be made up for by new talent and an improved pass rush.

Oooo weeeee. The boiler on the hype train is starting to strain

Common yall, Miss St doesn't count. Everyone knows the triple option only works when you have extra time to prepare. It'll never work in the regular season.
