Tennessee cancelled its scheduled Thursday morning practice session as the Vols work through the grind of fall camp. According to the schedule, they will be back on the practice field Thursday night at 6:50 in a session that is closed to the media.

Camp has clearly taken its toll on the Vols despite being just over a week old. A total of 18 players were absent during the open portion of Wednesday’s practice session. Most of the injuries are believe to be minor, though the Vols have lost guard Marcus Jackson for what will possibly be the season with an injury in camp already.

Rumors and a report circulated on Thursday morning that receiver Marquez North may have sustained a serious injury in Wednesday’s practice.

Here’s what we’ve been told via a source: North did, indeed, sustain an injury early during practice on Wednesday. After the injury, North spent the rest of Wednesday’s session on the training table observing practice, but was not in any noticeable pain. The severity of the injury is unknown at this time. We can confirm that much, but anything else at this point is speculation.

It sucks that he may have injured himself again. Tennessee still has a fine group of wide receivers with Josh Malone,Jason Croom,Pig Howard and Josh Smith along with Von Pearson,Preston Williams and Johnathan Johnson.

Just the announcement of playing GT causes injuries. #chopblockalypse

The Tennessee fans on VolNation hate that Tennessee has to open against GT in 2017. They have been worried saying GT will knock out their defensive line with chop blocking and cut blocking. I'm glad to see the old rivalry being played once again and wish it was a regular game.

More like trouble in the perpetual dumpster fire. I still can't believe they fired Fulmer.

Fulmer got too comfortable in his job and didn't put in the effort in Coaching and Recruiting that he had before. Mark Richt is getting a good case of Fulmer Disease.

I'm hoping TN limps along without faltering, because if they hired CPJ, they would turn the SEC east into a prison shower.

I brought that up once on VolNation and most of the fans there said they wanted a passing offense and Paul Johnson's offense wasn't entertaining enough:rolleyes: It would be cool to have a big back like Jalen Hurd at GT however.

Doey ran a sweet passing game down at La Tech, they should check into that.

Derek Dumbass wouldn't be safe reentering the state of Tennessee:lol: Him and Lame Kiffin are still extremely hated by Tennessee fans. DD destroyed the UT program and Tennessee is just now getting back to the level they were 10-15 years ago.

They must run the option in practice. That's why so many people get hurt right? No injuries ever happen against a pro-style

Tennessee thinks they are getting back to the level they were 10-15 years ago.

ftfy

They haven't done a thing yet. Even last year they lost to every decent team they played... but at least they didn't lose to Vandy, so perhaps that is progress.

I think Tenn is on an upswing. They've had some good classes and they have a good coach now. This year needs to be a 9-win season for them, with one or two victories over good teams.

Do they? How does anyone know?

Because he's been willing to oversign with the best of them? Because he basically holds tryouts and cuts people?

What has he won that makes you think he's a good game day coach? Did he ever beat Will Muschamp at Florida even?

Richt lost to Muschamp, too

Jones' performances at Central Michigan and Cincinatti were strong for non-P5 teams. His recruiting style is really no different than anyone else in the SEC. I don't agree with those practices, but considering the dumpster fire he inherited, he's doing well to bring in top talent. Again, I think he has to win 9 this year with one or two victories over a UGAg, UF, and/or SC.
