Clemson/Louisville, FSU/BC

Was FSU's offense as bad as the score indicated? I only saw the end of the game.

They looked unstoppable on their first drive. After that they looked like dogshit. In fact, only some miraculous scrambles by Golson kept them from disaster on more than one occasion.

Rambling summary:

FSU had 217 total yards. They outgained BC by just 20 something yards. The majority of their yardage came on 3 drives, 8 plays for 83 and a TD (their first), 11 plays for 63 and a MISSED FG, and 9 plays for 48 and nothing because it was more or less garbage time. Their offense only ever scored 7 points. Their other 7 came on a fumble return late in the 3rd quarter. BC committed 2 turnovers to FSU's 0.

Dalvin Cook went to the locker room with an injury after the half but came back out later. Everett Golson scrambled out of his own end zone to start one drive after shaking two defenders who each would have had a safety. Cook got about 200 fewer yards today than he did against USF, and it turns out FSU got about 200 fewer yards today than it did against USF. What a coincidence.

FSU looked beyond awful. I think part of it is that BC has a pretty good defense this year, but the other part of it is just the same thing that plagued them last year, except they don't have a Heisman winning first round draft pick QB and his all american TE to help cover it up. Their line play is absolutely not up to snuff for all of their recruiting rankings. Also, either their play calling is suspect, or Golson isn't making great decisions in directing the offense. His 17.9 QBR against USF was no fluke.

After watching FSU, Clem's Son, the gold domers last weekend and the bull pups against Candy, I have concluded there is nobody on our schedule we can't beat if we play our football. All of them are one dimensional. We are the complete package. Errr Total Package,

Clemson also looked like they had issues with their line play. Two things will decide how things go when we play Clemson and FSU. One is if either team gets their most important offensive piece injured before then, either because he is made of glass (Watson) or cause he is run into the ground (Cook, saw a bit of it already last night). Two is whether or not their line play can improve enough. It'll probably improve for both, but so might our defense so they have to try to improve more than we do.

Tech could have the same issue if JT is injured, so I won't mention such possibilities until it happens.

Couldn't agree more. Nobody can stop us.

Florida State is in trouble if Dalvin twists his ankle. I've never seen them so utterly dependent on one player making magic happen. Similar story with Clemson and the chosen one. I feel good about both these games. It's VT and UGA that I think are our toughest challenges ahead.

Pretty sure we will get their best shot from all 4 teams u list. Not true of fsu/BC or Louis/CU.
