If you read his announcement on Twitter, although he keeps the exact reason personal it doesn't seem like he holds any ill will towards any of the coaching staff or players. It seemed very positive overall... I'm sad to see us lose him but I wish him the best.

Sounds like he plans to play elsewhere and go to grad school. It's not a bad idea to get your Bachelor's and part of a Master's paid for.

TaxJacket once again confirms my belief that he's a 50 year old virgin livin in momma's basement.

Back to the topic- is it common for a player to suffer a career injury and then quit the team? I thought all those players on the sideline in warm up career and not wearing pads are the players with career/season ending injuries.

He'll probably be allowed there and still be at the training table, he just won't be as supervised in rehab and some other team activities like watching film. If you plan to graduate in May, it will give him a lot more time for his studies. That might have been the entire talk. Am I going to play this year, I graduate in May? And the answer is not much.
 
I do hate it for him to leave us, but I do wish he finds success in whatever he decides to do with his future.
 
TaxJacket is just a passionate fan. He's a good guy and fun to tailgate with.
