FTRS posted some pretty ugly Vines of the Duke game

#58 & #65 just dove at knees...missed...and ended up looking stupid in the mud.

#3 does an admirable job of diving at the Puke player's knees.

Why not stand up and block normally rather than rolling around on the ground like an idiot?

I might be mixing them up, but I think at least 65 moved the guy back a bit and kept him from getting anywhere. The one 58 was going for ran right past him.

I think there is enough blame to go all around. You can go back and watch OL who whiff on assignments all over the place ( there were several instances of them missing a block or going after the wrong person via a double team or some other nonsense). Then you have clips like this where ABs and WRs are whiffing. We suck on the line and the edges.....thus why our offense sux in general. Oh, and we have trouble passing too.......

Defense is shaping up nicely though. Hopefully special teams coverage gets better this week.

Would you trust them if they let 3 guys in your face every time you're trying to do anything?

If he would make the correct read and give it to the BB when he should, maybe the defense has to call off the dogs and we have more breathing room. JT5 is not blameless

Does anyone see a future Star Playmaker ar A back?

I do not see why it is so hard for our Coaches to recruit top HS running backs when out offense is all Run.

Some of the State of Georgia top backs would rather go to UGA and pick splinters out of their butts than play at Tech and be a star.

I thought both Marshall and Searcy were playing very well at A-Back before injury.

Both have 3 more years of eligibility.

This is better and worse than I thought because it solidifies my theory about why the offense isn't working. And it's not because we played teams who know how to defend the option well. That part is good, the bad part is the offense is showing all the symptoms of a young inexperienced one and I don't think it's something that will be fixed in a week or two unless they practice nonstop without sleep for the next month.

What's going to happen next is we're gonna hear CPJ talking about simplifying the plays after our next loss. I pray to God that the defense can bail us out next Saturday.

The mantra at the radio show was "do your job". CPJ seemed pleased with how hard the team played and their refusal to give up, but said it's basically a vicious cycle of non-superstars getting frustrated on the field, ignoring an assignment in order to make a big play, then whiffing in the process, causing more havoc and panic, especially for the younger guys.

Shamire got 2 guys, his guy and Snoddy's guy.

Wow, lots of misinformation ITT.

The 1st vine was just a missed read. Our OL blew them up and that could have been a huge gain (although Skov probably would have run straight into someone and kept it at a 6-7 yard gain).

The 2nd vine probably would have been a TD if Jeune hadn't missed his block. Willis was headed for the safety downfield, so if he gets his block then our AB is gone. Shamire made a pretty amazing block on the play, but since another guy totally blew his assignment, nobody noticed.

WRT to the whining about why we don't just stand up and block normally, I bet you weren't saying that when we were pounding UGA, FSU, and MSU into submission. Cut blocks are an integral role of our offense and are used in combination with regular drive blocking. A cut is useful for an undersized player, as a last resort in space, or on a play where you only have to slow a guy down for a second.

We're still making a lot of good blocks, we're just completely whiffing on too many others.

can't ike improvise, though.. i mean u see the WR missed his block.. he should know the pitchman is bout to be blown up by that guy gallivanting right by him and he just lets him go

The saddest part about this is our defense has been playing pretty darn well. Certainly well enough to be 4-0 right now if the offense could perform at 2/3 of the level of last season.

We could have won both losses purely on having a solid kicking game, even if the offense was this terrible. Our D has improved that much.

Does Ike know that that guy isn't JT's pitch read, though? If Ike blocks a guy that he shouldn't, then our AB (Snoddy?) gets tackled 5 yards downfield instead of scoring a TD.

I don't think PJ wants guys trying to think about making up for others' mistakes during the play, hence the "just do your own job" emphasis.

I suppose I could be wrong, but that's the vibe I get from all of his pissed off postgame interviews.

If you're talking about the first vine, the big issue was the C and RG both blocked the same person and left #16 unblocked.

The C and RG look like they just dived into the turf, which some people here hate. But that "diving into the turf" actually did its job. #98 was successfully blocked. But the RG (probably) was supposed to block #16. I guess the RG thought the C was stunting around him.

#22 does appear to be the read guy, and JT appeared to read him wrong. He shuffles towards the BB but his shoulders remained pointed upfield. FWIW, the left side of the line did a hell of a job on their blocks.

But if #16 was blocked, then #22 would have merely gotten a no-gain play. #16 not being blocked at all is what blew up the play in the backfield, and got JT to force the pitch

Until we get some receivers blowing by some cheating DBs for TDs we are going to see a lot of "blown-up" runs ,too many close to LOS to be very successful

I was talking about the 2nd vine, but you're dead on about the first one. There were some great blocks on the play, but they got overshadowed.

Already did that after Notre Dame... According to the call in show. For whatever reason, this team is different. They don't ever give up, so there is always hope for some improvement.
