He was awful.
He was alternately "awful" against Georgia and fantastic against Auburn and others. As a former player, he deserves our thanks and admiration for giving his best efforts on the field for the Institute. Sure, as a fan, I would scream bloody murder about some of his plays but that is in the past. Welcome Reggie to the trials of being a Tech fan.

I like Reggie. He punched a Georgia coach in the face, and that is the finest thing any man can ever do. He had a white bread coach and a low-functioning retard for an OC. I've seen better players lay down and quit. He never did.

Butthurt much? I provided some stats to back my claim as to why he is one of the worst starting QBs we've had on the flats in the past 25 years. If you can provide something to the contrary, I'm listening.

For comparison, Vad threw around a 47% completion rate and had 15 TDs/13 Ints . That's pretty comparable to RB (ratio as well as comp %). Is it ok to bash VL or do we have to put him on a pedestal too?
Why do you still care so much all these years later? It's been a decade, dude. Move the öööö on.

Anyone who puts on the Tech uniform and wore it proudly and continues to be a good representative of the Institute is fine by me - Reggie Ball included. It doesn't matter how good he was, or what - he is one of us.
Well put. His career didn't progress the way we hoped. Guy didn't always play well, but he left it out on the field and has been a fine representative of the Institute since he left.

Think that he would have a been a really good QB under CPJ, running the spread option.

Seriously. Leave the guy alone. He played for Tech. He still supports Tech.

I love how StingThing has a JC quote in his sig. He definitely exemplifies JC in the way he lives his life. JC would definitely be hating on Reggie Ball if he were a GT fan.

Reggie had a loser head coach who didn't know what he was doing. Still doesn't.

I feel like I've typed the phrase "I have to assume you're trolling, but.." on this forum just about as many times as the Good Word.

I have to assume StingThing is trolling, but if not he is one of the most pathetic users I've ever seen on StingTalk. As has already been said, considering all the ööööty treatment Reggie has received from our fanbase, it's amazing the love he still has for Tech. It's not even necessary to throw in an "Even though Reggie did.." before expressing support for the guy. He played his heart out for the team we love and has since represented it passionately and well. As this conversation goes, there's really nothing that needs to be said before or after.

And applying the B*** L**** thing to Reggie as though are any parallels to be drawn between those two whatsoever? Infantile and ignorant.

This whole thread is an interesting summation of the conflicting mood swings that GT fans go through every week (especially on ST). We all call out players for sucking or yell at them to be benched after every loss, but we stand up for them 10 years after they are gone. Regardless of whether or not I was trolling, I would put it out there that if you are going to protect a player 10 years after he played then you should be protecting that same player while he is playing now.

Come off it, you weren't trolling. It's just a convenient escape now that you've been a dick.

Also. People change a lot in 10 years so it's pretty difficult to expect them to behave the same way toward something as fringe as sports fanaticism. I had Reggie rage when I was 24. But, I was 24. Now I'm not.
