UNC Prediction Thread

Delaware rushed for 303 yds against UNC in Chapel Hill last week and dominated TOP, despite not having their leading rusher. They averaged 5.7 yds per carry, and only trailed 13-7 at halftime. UNC made big pass plays to pull away, so the game wasn't close in the second half. The Tech running game might be a work in progress, but I think we should be better than Delaware on offense. We will need to get pressure on whichever QB they play, or we will be giving up a lot of points. We need to avoid letting their kick returner get the ball.

I really have no idea what we'll do. I would assume that after two straight losses, we come out and death march them the whole game. Unfortunately, A LOT has to change before I can see that realistically happening. Not to mention, I would've thought we'd have done the same to Duke, but give them credit- they've got a good D.

It's kind of hard for me to laugh about the blueprint now that two teams have just loaded up the box and made our offense look silly. :turbonoes:

I wasn't joking.

Their weakness is what they expect us to do. We'll win if we can do something else.

I am honestly at a loss. If we block, we win by 14. If we whiff assignments, we lose by 14.

This pretty much describes my feeling right now. I'm going to be positive and say

Here is some info from a few weeks ago that might be interesting to some:
Since 2000, only three Power 5 schools haven’t recorded a nine-win season. They are Indiana, Kentucky and…North Carolina.

That’s an incredible fact considering UNC did register six consecutive winning seasons from 2008-2013. But the first several seasons of the 21st century were a wasteland for the Heels, as they won just 31 games from 2001-07.

Last year, UNC finished 6-7 and got thumped 40-21 in the Quick Lane Bowl by Rutgers.

OMG--we may have to really depend on the DEF to win the game-scary
I'm perplexed but until our Off can show some gumption we are in trouble

I hope CPJ can adjust his mindset to that of a defensive minded team.

If we repeat our defensive game plan, focus on stopping the run game and force Marquise Williams to win it then I like our chances. DBs absolutely have to be better on the 50/50 balls.

I think being at home and fair-weather fans behind will propel us to a win.

0-0 at the end of regulation. Butker kicks the winner in OT.

Home field advantage comes through. Teams play great defense to keep the scoring down to a reasonable level this year.

I am curious about the home field advantage. The UNC game two years ago was nasty and it looks to be the same Saturday... That plus two disheartening losses and I don't know how many folks are going to trek out into the slop to good ole BDS. I for one can drink enough booze before 3:30 for most weather situations and will be there.

Was JTs mudder a mudder?

There is no ööööööö way we score 48 on anyone in a monsoon.

You guys are crazy.

Justin continues to struggle. Down 10 - 0 in the second half Coach puts Jordan in and we score three times and win. Justin winds up being a wino down around the Turner Field area. One of those things that never makes sense.

At least there's no hope to crush this time
