And so it ends

But, FWIW, I dont remember exactly when it was, but I do remember someone going OOB at some point and it didnt seem that the clock stopped at all. I assumed the ball was spotted and set quickly and I just didnt notice the stoppage. But if it in fact never stopped, this could be the play he was questioning, with every right to.
Also possible they ruled forward progress stopped before he got out of bounds. They do that sometimes even if the player hasn't been stopped long enough to consider him down during the normal course of play.

I remember that too and also the refs couldn't get the clock right for the next four plays.

Never went back and checked it but I wondered how UGAg got those two 40 second play clocks. Another 20 or 30 seconds couldve been huge. They might have scored again. [emoji38]

It's only just begun. This will be THE longest offseason in GT message board history. Chew on that for a second. With fans divided you will have more angst unleashed on the boards than ever before. I may have to take a hiatus from all the expected ass hattery. And yes, I'm buying major butt hurt shares as they will be worth higher in the offseason than ever before.

Or you could just commit a serious ban-level offense.

The Humanitarian Bowl was actually a fun trip when I went. When else am I going to be in Boise in the winter? I imagine it was a fairly fun trip for the team, many of whom probably hadn't ever been to the snowy Rockies.

A few years back they changed the rules so that going out of bounds only stops the clock until the ball is set for play, except near the ends of halves.

What really annoys me about this rule is that the clock shouldn't start until the ref allows the team to snap the ball. Sometimes a team is running its hurry up and the official stands over the ball while the clock is running.

I've been curious about the 40 second clock as well.

I'm pretty sure one of them was when Marcordes lost his helmet which caused the officials to stop the game clock. Once he was told to leave the field for a play and trotted off, the play clock was set to 40 and started with the game clock. With a play stoppage like that, plenty of time to get set, etc., you would think the 25 second play clock would be used since the game clock had stopped. Almost makes you wonder if thats a way to manipulate game time... snatch someones helmet off in the pile so the officials stop the clock and then give you a 40 second play clock afterwards to run down.

Free fall since ND with a dead-cat bounce vs FSU.

The length and misery of this off-season will be unparalleled ...:crapstorm:
