BC is paying Georgia Tech $900,000 for the Ireland game

1:42 PM UPDATE: Via e-mail, the AD's office at Boston College says that the $900,000 guarantee payment pays for Georgia Tech's travel, lodging and meals. The money comes from the larger pot of money from game sponsors, which BC is indeed receiving "the lion's share" of as the home team, though what "the lion's share" means is unclear.
.

Feel like they should be defraying loyal fans travel costs... Cough cough.

It would be great to subsidize Georgia Tech alum who attend the game, but I do not see that as ever happening.
What is tragic is that the $495 tailgate lounge and other "packages" do not seem to be revenue neutral, but rather
additional money for the program.

Should ticket sales be revenue neutral as well? Of course they are trying to raise money for the program. If you don't want to pay extra then hang out at a pub before the game instead.
