I sure would love to see AJ have a breakout year and great career. Like someone mentioned in another thread, his recruitment ranking was way underrated because he committed early to us, and I think in part because of where he played HS football. There was no doubt watching him though that he was by far the best athlete on the field in every game of probably his last 2 HS seasons.
Washington County football has a pretty good rep in the state. We have a walkon from there coming in this year, last name Brooks. Would love to see something where AJ could get his hands on the ball. Maybe use a little at wideout.
Seemed at times like Jamal Golden had that sense. Now that he's gone, it's good to know we have another player with that type of instinct.Word from a friend who watched him play HS FB and Basketball is that AJ has a sense for where the ball will be and gets there first. His observation watching basketball was that he seemed to be where the opposing point guard was passing before the opponent had made his pass. I hope I described that well enough. That kind of ball sense seems is something a player either has or doesn't. He is a fun player to watch.
Wish CPJ had just reeled that comment in just a little bit before he made it.
Its not that AJ doesn't deserve it but why raise the bar that high on the kid?
Now, its all about living up to that comment.
Also, as a footnote, interesting that the story, from an outlet in the kid's backyard, didn't have a single tidbit to add to the story. Wonder which Bulldwag reporter drew the short draw to write even that much.
