Most Overrated Programs

Solidly ahead of the 2nd place finisher too. Well done, Dwags.

Well they do compete in the almighty SEC. Plus I read on here recently of how Smart is going to bring them a title.

Good article. We all know that the Atlanta media hypes Georgia as the greatest program in the land as soon as the season ends until their first loss the next autumn. They have seriously under performed with their recruiting rankings and pre-season expectations.

And crap all mighty we are 2 - 8 vs the most overrated team in college football.

This öööö has got to stop.

Once again, Georgia enters the season with a No. 1 ranking ... dubious as it is.

Overrated doesn't mean bad. In fact, more often than not it means they're actually pretty good, otherwise people wouldn't be thinking they could be great.

So correct. I'm sick of losing games to these guys. We start to beat them on some consistent basis, we'll start earning the respect back.

We can't coach an offensive line to block someone. We end up looking like a Faith No More video flopping around.

The list has math and method supporting it which is good and it is a solid list. On my gut, though, this would be my list with no science behind it.
1 uga
2 texas
3 unc
4 usc
5 vt
6 auburn
7 lsu
8 michigan
9 penn state
10 tennessee

UGA is definitely a solid choice for #1. Frankly, they are a couple of standard deviations away from the rest in pure suck.

I would hesitate to put teams who have won a championships somewhat recently as being "most overrated". UGA has won dick in my lifetime and basically plays for Outback Bowls.

I don't get the FSU ranking at all and that article really didn't justify it. Those damn LSU coonasses are in their Hayday yet they think they should be top 10 every year. Before 2003, I think LSU last won a title in the 50's. Then they win in 2008 and had an outstanding team in 2011. They do well for a rather poor state. Ever drive through there? Don't.

No arguments about Texas, UCLA, Sooners or Nebraska. I think VT does pretty well with the talent they recruit, I don't really understand why they cannot recruit better.

As far as the ACC is concerned I think UNC and Miami get too much preseason hype. No team from the Atlantic comes immediately to mind, maybe State.
