What's the ACC Network Worth?

Potentially the channel is carried in three Southern states Georgia, Kentucky and South Carolina with three schools, Georgia Tech, Louisville, and Clemson, which are clearly the second most popular teams in their states. Put these states squarely in the maybe camp.

Especially if SEC fans in these states decide to fight against the channel's inclusion.

Does he really think SEC fans are going to rise up and fight against the ACC network?

If we have to pay for the turd that is the $ECN, then these **** $EC fans better pony up for the ACCN.

Also, how do can the author think that USCe and UK are wildly more popular in their home states than Clemson and Louisville, respectively? In South Carolina, Clemson/USCe is a 50-50 split, easily, though I'm not 100% sure about Kentucky. The only one they're right about is Georgia.

They are more popular brands, just not by name, because there are so many "SEC fans" in the area.

Sadly ugay gets more media coverage in the state and the ATL than Tech. We have no flagship station while 680 and WSB ,( both radio & TV) as well as local CBS & NBC afilliates and the AJC cover ugay sports daily. I really believe that it affects our recruiting ability, fan support as well as revenues. Add a weak media front man (our coach) and Tech is always fighting an uphill battle.JMO folks.

Probably not worth a uga degree or a bucket of warm spit, but I repeat myself

Gee, wonder how we could fix that? Well, the first thing that comes to mind is you have to want to.

And I noticed the author of the linked article mentioned adding Texas & ND. When adding ND is mentioned on our boards, more often than not, adding Navy is mentioned, for no valid reason whatever.

Almost like some think no reason to think big or do better.

Would Navy want to be in a league?

As you said, "you ( administration & the A.D. have to want to) could'nt have said it better.

I've said this a hundred times, but I'll say it again. If you think adding Navy adds any value to the ACC, you are a retard.

We should look into Navy and Army. Gets us a foothold into the NE TV markets and maybe even a country wide following. Maybe substitute Air Force for Army. Get some TV watchers east of the mississip.

Army has already ducked us once in football for their health. I just don't think Army or Navy is the type of schools that need to be in one of the major conferences. Just a different type of student.

If the goal was to develop a strategy to flank and kill the opposition, Army and Navy would be perfect

I think the idea he has at the end with regards to converting ESPNU has merit. I don't remember the last time I watched anything other than a game on ESPNU but if it were ACC you would get more attention.

I will also add that or seems to me ACC fans are more interested in other sports than SEC fans. Most of them will say as much. They can tell you everyou player in Tennessee's football roster and the ranking of next year's recruiting class but have no idea whether the basketball team has a winning or losing record.

So this channel will basically be FSU/Clemson/da U network right?
