It's better than dumb öööö like this:5 conference Champs and 3 SEC wildcards sounds great to me.
I don't think it would add bowls, I think the quarterfinals and semifinals would rotate between Rose, Sugar, Orange, Fiesta, Peach, and Cotton.I saw this the other day and I agree with him. 5 conference champions and 3 teams at large. I think it would be perfect. The rankings would still matter obviously for the at large teams but none of the stupid drama regarding the conference champions. Quarterfinals can start on 12/17, semifinals on 12/24 and we can still have the final on 1/9. Wouldn't be any longer than current format and add 4 more high stakes bowls. More tv revenue. It's dumb to not implement this.
So which bowls will volunteer to be played in mid-December. And I think Akinji was trolling with the 12/24 suggestion, right?I don't think it would add bowls, I think the quarterfinals and semifinals would rotate between Rose, Sugar, Orange, Fiesta, Peach, and Cotton.
It will rotate. So which bowls will volunteer to be played in mid-December. And I think Akinji was trolling with the 12/24 suggestion, right?
No major bowl game is going to want to be played in the middle of December. It would be better to push it into mid-January.It will rotate.
Amen!!!It's better than dumb öööö like this:
In any case they will most likely have 2 SEC teams in an 8 team playoff. Not 3 or 4.
I always love his graphic. Final games for these teams that year:It's better than dumb öööö like this:
In any case they will most likely have 2 SEC teams in an 8 team playoff. Not 3 or 4.
It is what it is.Best thing he ever said
Pretty good point. We have been known to win the conference on occasion.Could only be good for us.
For one, we have a way better shot at getting in in a "top 8" scenario.
Paul also knows once we got into a playoff, we have a chance to start kicking some ass against teams with only 1 week of prep.
