The Bears are entering their fourth season of football competition, and their record had slowly decayed in the process. In 2015, they finished 5-6, and 2-5 in the SoCon. They are returning an experienced QB this season, and a 1,000 yard rusher as well.

Our boys will be fighting off the jet lag and the start of the school year. We all know how these low motivation games can go, so hopefully we will come out fast and finish the drill in the 2nd half.

Don't know how good Tech will be this year, but Mercer is worser.
 
Coach Lamb comes from an amazing family of quality coaches. That being said, it's Mercer. We win by 40.
 
As the great Michael J Dundee once said, better than average. On a side note, Mercer's starting middle linebacker's grandma was at my wedding. Helluva player.Tyler Ward.
 
Dan Radokovich's kid is a tight end for Mercer. Probaly why we didn't recruit him.
 
We should analyze this. How many recruiting battles did we win over Mercer, and how many recruiting battles did they win over us?
 
This should be like the Alcorn St game or Tulane game from last year... 69-6 or 65-10...GT!!
 
GO BEARS! Not that that will help much. (my alma mater) but I do think it's cool they have a football team again and they've been doing good in their division. Definitely pulling for the Jackets but GO BEARS!

Yea, Mercer is my side piece. Wife graduated there.
 
None, not one ounce, Nada disrespect to MU, but the fact we are playing MU & GSU in the same year is a disgrace.

It is a little disappointing. I know it's unlikely, but this is the type of thing that could be a tiebreaker (in a bad way) if we're somehow in contention for the title. I'm fine with playing two easy OOC games but GSU is basically another 1-AA team.
 
Alas, they are my hometown team. I expect a brutal outcome for the visitors.
 
As an alum of both schools, I will burn something down if Tech loses to Mercer. I'll consider anything closer than 2 touchdowns to be a loss.
 
We could schedule all of our OOC games in Georgia, KSU, GSUx2, Mercer,

Every year in BDS.

Yes, GSU is basically a FCS team, but Southern is not. Southern already won the Sun Belt and won a FBS bowl game.

Caveat: Not sure how Southern looks under new coach.

Yeah my mistake -- thought we were playing State this year. Is that next year?
