Depth Chart and Game Notes

Interesting that Chase Alford is starting at MLB over Brant Mitchell. Roof was really high on Mitchell last year. AJC reported Roof saying that Alford is a very reliable guy who you can trust won't make a mistake.

We haven't had a 200 yard rusher since UGAg 2008 (Roddy). I know we are balanced, but I would love to see a B-back run for 200+. Especially against ACC opposition or UGAg

I doubt we'll see another AB run for 200+ in a single game. UGA had no clue how to defend the option in 2008 and in the second half they had no answer for the pitch. Unless we run across another team where the DC is clueless...

Our chance of having a 200 yard rusher would be at BB, and may not happen for a long time since we have the 1-2 punch at BB like we did in 2014. I'll take the 1-2 punch

I haven't heard much about JJ Green and was wondering how he'd pan out. I see he is tied with Isiah Willis on the depth chart for the 2nd starting AB.

I think it's quite possible it'll happen again. A good A-back averages 10+ yards a carry for an entire year, so in one game a couple of big runs and several average runs is very doable.

Idk. In 2008 we had 2 ABs who we were comfortable pitching the ball to (Roddy & Peeples). Lucas Cox was just a blocker. We now have a full rotation of ABs and have 5-6 guys that rotate in and out, like we have had every year since 2008 (excl. 2015). I just can't see one guy racking up that many yards at AB.

Not that I don't want it to happen, I just think things are different than they were in 2008.

Based on the radio show, Mills will start at B-back and therefore will not return kicks. Also, Mitchell is slated to start according to CPJ. These depth carts are known to be different from what actually happens on gameday under CPJ.

Probably the closest we've come is Orwin going for 157/108 passing/receiving against Kansas in 2011. 265 yards on 7 touches (about 38 yds/touch). He would have topped 200 if the game had been closer.

Still don't like. Hate to see a starter as a returner.

Agreed. I would also like to see someone a little more explosive than Stewart. The Stewart pick goes with the thought that CPJ wanted a safe pick with good hands.

Let Lance Austin tote the kickoffs. 22mph on the blocked kick return according to the ESPN science thing.
