2016 NCAAF Coaches Salaries

Hmmm, not sure how accurate this is. Saban signed a deal with Alabama for $55m in performance bonuses, which I'm not sure is reflected in his overall numbers.

The thing that strikes me about Kirby Smart's salary is that he stands out on the list as being one year removed from a coordinator coaching job, but surrounded by a field of experienced head coaches. The responsibilities are a lot different. Assistants work mostly with players, while head coaches are executives who oversee all aspects of the program and interact with administrators and boosters. Sometimes assistants make that jump, but many find that their skill set is better suited to being an assistant. I suspect UGa paid what they thought the market demanded for a coach with Smart's background, but hiring a coordinator to take over a P5 program is a risky move, and will require some on-the-job learning at the least.

Not that I'm enamored with Larry Fedora or anything, but UNC did a good job negotiating his contract.

Brian Kelly at #65? I'm sure I'm overlooking something, but I figured he'd be a tad higher, since most view that as a dream job. Perks?

9 of the top 18 coaches are in the SEC. ACC has 2 in the top 18, and 1 in the top 11

Mississippi State will likely pay over a million per win this season.

Coaches at factories have built in "hidden" packages. Boosters, advertising, cars, houses, 401k's, etc.

They are private, so I wonder why they disclosed?

Do not show any other pay or bonus pay either.
