I would rather not play an SEC team in a bowl game. We have only played 7 P5 non-conference teams that weren't from the SEC over the last 15 years and 3 of those were ND. Our last 2 bowls were against SEC teams.

I don't know why anyone would be concerned about LSU's D, or any other potential opponents D for that matter. In Boston College we faced the toughest D that we would see all year and came out on top.

Not feeling picky this year, myself. I'd be equally happy with either a high profile opponent or someone we can curb stomp. We will have a chance to beat an overhyped SEC team week 1 next year, so I wouldn't mind something different for the bowl game.

Beating SEC teams hasn't really done a whole to the SEC's perception for whatever reason. Do they just have to lose more games? Or is that perception just never going to die regardless of how bad they are in reality?

I'm not so sure about that. They still get their fair share of undeserved hype, but I don't think it's to the same degree as it was pre-2014.

How does the bowl announcement work now... ESPN has a CFP Selection Show for 4 hours today. They announce all the bowls on that show?

The CFP show is at noon. The Bowl selection show is at 4:00 (ESPNU). As I recall, the selection is usually known a little before the show actually starts.

Gator Bowl's twitter account just said they know who their selections are, so I'd guess we'll get the announcement soon. Can't imagine there's any chance of anything other than us and Kentucky.
