Encouraging news on Johnson-Stansbury relationship

Need to get busy putting some shade over my seat for all these noon games we play.

Mentions the locker rooms again - I thought this was being covered in the Atlanta FC deal? Or is that deal just covering a portion of a larger undertaking?

In September, the department projected to run a $2.8 million deficit for the 2017 fiscal year with the buyouts to former basketball coaches Paul Hewitt and Brian Gregory draining the budget.

How much longer does that nightmare of paying Hewitt last? It is the gift that keeps on giving. That man hit the freakin' lottery

IIRC, a few years back we split up his buyout payments into 2. Doubled length of buyout but cut yearly money owed in half. I believe it goes until 2019.

It is saddening to see the shambles our basketball program is in.

Especially considering Hewitt's year of success that netted him that contract was 12 years ago.

I just wish Elder had been healthy so we would at least have a National Championship trophy to show for it.

I forget.... why didn't we go after TS when DRad left again? I'm sure there was a really good reason but I can't remember what it is.

I think TS had been at UCF only about 8 months when DRad left. So I don't know if we reached out and he didn't want to leave so quickly, or if we never reached out.

"Two items at the top of Johnson’s wish list — a renovated locker room and enhancements in the recruiting office — are likewise at the top of Stansbury’s."

"Stansbury estimated that the combined cost of the renovations to the locker room and the Rice and Edge centers would be in the neighborhood of $5 million. He said he was “very hopeful” that he’ll be able to secure commitments for those projects to go forward."

It sounds like Stansbury is gonna rally the boosters soon.

Still feeling very optimistic about the TS hire... We're certainly hearing all the right things so far.

I believe our best bet at sustained football success involves TS getting CPJ the resources and backing he needs to build a consistent winning team. The locker room upgrades suggest this very idea is going to happen.

Anyone else confused why the locker room has consistently been on the top of CPJ's wish list? Granted, it's not Clemson, but from what I've seen our locker room is pretty nice - what exactly is he wanting to do there?

I'd have guessed the recruiting budget would have been a higher priority for coach.

Hasn't been renovated in 13 years? I'd guess it is pretty beat up.

Blewwit couldn't beat Jim Calhoun twice in one year with 10 Elders. We got dissected like a frog in a Biology lab.

After we beat that ass in the preseason NIT. Then proceeded to play .500 ball, or right at it, in the league that year before turning it on again in the NCAA tourney.
