4 out of 5 were sack-fumble-scoops too. That would be insane if all 5 were.

This was my first Tech game as well. Got offered free tickets about 4 hours before game time and stood up a date to go! She never went out with me again but I will never forget that game and rushing the field.

We were there with kids and all. Went out on the field after the game. Awesome experience.

I can't find any current stats or info on the record, but on that broadcast, they mention that the scoop and score made it the 5th consecutive game our D scored a TD and that it was a record. Anybody know if we still hold that record?
That UVA game (aka 41-38 part 2) is one of my all-time favorite Tech games. Most of the people I was at the game with left early, but I stayed until the end (as is my custom, probably in large part due to that game). Those of us who were left in the stadium were loud as hell - that was one of the loudest, best environments that I can remember at BDS.

I actually called the scoop-and-score. There had been a lot of attention around our defensive scores to that point, so at one point I said "it sure would be nice to get another defensive score here," and on the next play, BOOM. Called it! :-)

There was one long catch and run for a touchdown, I believe by Dez White, that's the moment in the game etched in my memory. I was in the band and it was going away from us. He had a safety to beat after he caught it and the afterburners came on.

I also remember playing and playing for all the fans on the field while they were tearing down the goalposts. Such fun. Pity the Admin doesn't let the band play when the field gets rushed now.
I was in the band too! What a great time to be alive it was...

I can still hear Wes... "DEZ WHITE!!! DEZ WHITE!!! DEZ WHITE!!!"

We set the NCAA record - at the time - with 7 fumble returns for TD that year. I think Florida had the previous record.

I think we may have also had a blocked punt/bad snap TD on STs, but I could be wrong. Brad Chambers was a solid FG kicker and Rodney Williams was probably the best punter in the nation. Charlie Rogers was a very dangerous punt returner. We had excellent STs and a defense that gave up yards, but caused havoc and could score at any time. Fun fact: Randy Edsall was the DC that year and Roof was LB coach.

If 1990 was in HooVille, how was 1998 in Atlanta?
1993 and 1994 were both played in Atlanta. I assume it had something to do with Florida State joining the conference a couple of years prior.

I wasn't there, but I vividly remember going back and forth to the parking lot of the Homecoming Dance my senior year of high school to check the score. Heard Wes's call of the final TD and missed FGA right there in my banana yellow 1980 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme. Lol
