Sad story out of Clemson

I'm going with suicide precipitated by the loss of his wife.

Sad.

The wife of a man we do business with died about 5 years ago. They had been married 60 years. He was semi retired. Did a bit of sales work. When she died, he came to my office one day and talked with me. He cried and said he just didn't know what to do anymore. He said there was never a day he didn't look forward to coming home to the love of his life. Having supper with her every night. Raised kids with her. All the history. He was lost.
Luckily, his church and kids stepped in. They even called me and thanked me and asked me just to call every so often, which I still do. He has adjusted, but he isn't the same person. Still super nice, just still seems a bit lost.

Clemson Athletics tweet: "It is with a heavy heart we pass along that Bert Henderson was found dead this morning. Please keep his family in your thoughts & prayers."

Think they could have worded this a touch more eloquently?

So sorry to hear, especially for the daughters going through this again.

Also very sad that so many "Tech Men" are once again showing a lack of dignity & class.

With his wife passing in Nov. glad to see that he held out through the CFP' s to probably bring little joy. It is unfortunate.

I find it a tad ironic that an athletic director killed himself after winning a national championship
