CBS National Quarterback Tiers

Eason gets the Patrick Mahomes II Tier. NFL talent! I can't stop laughing.

We don't have a quarterback anywhere in the list, even though Clemson has this guy named Player TBD who nobody's ever heard of in the Trubisky tier. Actually surprised that Player isn't a more common first name.
Maybe we'll go with the Single-wing and not use a quarterback, (except for blocking purposes)

You spelled it wrong.

Eason has the talent to be all-SEC, but he plays scared. Any slight pressure and he makes terrible decisions. When he runs, he slides feet first at the threat of contact. He's going to lose the starting job to Fromm, transfer out of school, and play in Division II in a few years. Then he'll end up like Brendan Douglas: living in mom's basement and trying to impress girls at the local bar with stories of not winning national championships at georgia.

He doesn't have the talent. Literally all he has is height and arm strength. No accuracy, no decision making, no speed, no elusiveness, no it factor of any kind. He may become more knowledgeable of the offense, if that is worth a öööö in the current UGA offense, but this guy is not "talented" to nearly the degree he was billed. Par for the course at the cesspool though.

How did the scout services get it so wrong?

No accuracy ...
When he throws in low pressure situations, he can be incredibly accurate, but...

no decision making, no speed, no elusiveness, no it factor of any kind.
... you're right about this. He's not slow, but he's not going to make plays with his feet, and his decision making is terrible.

My opinion (and take it for what it's worth) is that the difference between living in a trailer and drinking PBR while sitting on a broken John Deer and being drafted was choosing to stay with georgia over following Richt. A proven QB coach could teach him decision making and the pocket passing skills needed to get drafted. He's not going to learn that at georgia.

He played in Washington State football and played under 0 pressure.

The first practice in pads where he took a hit from a Division I linebacker, his life changed.

So why would the consensus of scout services label him as a top recruit? Did they not factor in level of HS competition?

It's not easy to predict how someone will respond to D1 pressure until they're in D1. Prior to that it's all about skill, which the guy has plenty of.

Please tell me this is true

Add in that he essentially played on what amounted to a Washington State high school all star team. There are a crap ton of QB's that would have put up big numbers playing on the best team in an inferior football state. I bet they would have gotten an ass kicking from Colquitt County.
