Figured this was as good of time as any to see where our fanbase is, given recency of Spring Game. Options are what I foresee at this point given current QB depth + incoming freshman class.

I was getting vad vibes from Lucas Johnson at the scrimmage. Not in an attitude way, but skill set. I think Jay had some ups and downs, but I like his potential.

Johnson shows a lot more gettup than I thought he had on that long TD run. Marshall looks sound. Jones reminds me of JT5 but looks raw still. The kind of guy that's gonna break a 30 yard gain and then lose 11 on the next play trying to reverse field. I'm too excited about the return of midline for it not to be Jordan, but after being admittedly skeptical about CPJS comment regarding QB depth I've got to say I'm a lot less worried about that position than I was after the bowl game. Hell I was even a pretty big Oliver fan for the '17 class. He's an auto-RS (unless he's the 2nd coming) and we're gonna have to start moving people next season.

Quan didn't do much of anything this past week, but CPJ said he's played much better all spring. He is not much of a difference in size/speed from JT5 but I think Thomas was more athletic. Haven't seen quite what Quan can do just yet.

JJ is a freak athlete but is still too raw to run the system. Arm seemed to be powerful, but not accurate. As CPJ said, he thinks he's still in high school and will abandon the system to scramble and elude, which could be worrisome. (One could say JT5 did this too...)

MJ is Tevin 2.0 with more power. I trust him to run the 3O but not to play from behind. The arm isn't quite there, but he brings experience which can't be said for the others.

LJ seems to be the best dual-threat QB we have. From watching the spring game, it amazes me that he is #3 currently. He seemed to be the best QB on the field, granted, he was playing against 2nd team D.

Ultimately I trust CPJ to put the best player on the field, though, like some, I think we'll be seeing 2 QBs this fall.

I'll go with CPJ's choice because I'm a decent human being/Georgia Tech fan who thinks that's the classy response.

I will predict mucho hand-wringing and/or some form of controversy regarding the QB position this year.

Once Lucas learns the base offense, I think he will be hard to be out. He is big enough to run midline and QB follow, fast enough for TO and tall and accurate enough to make good throws.

I like Matthew Jordan to start and give us the midline / grind it out / death march type offense. This also allows us to get a change of pace drive in with one of the less brute force QB's if the offense is stalling.

This will lead to some annoying comments from dumb fans who will call for the backup QB, but is likely the best strategy IMO.

I'm on the Lucas Johnson train. MJ is too one dimensional, and will struggle when the team is behind. I think MJ is the starter week one, but will get overtaken at some point.

If Johnson is tough enough to run the midline and plow ahead for tough yards, he's my pick for long-term QB, regardless of who starts Game 1. Vad's shortcomings as an option QB were not physical, so I don't think LJ/VL similarities are a bad thing at all.

I like MJ for this year, but if I had to buy stock in someonthe for the long haul, I'm all in on Jay Jones. He has ridiculous running ability. Hopefully he'll learn the TO and pass a little better.
