Where are the damn practice reports?

Last interview PJ said someone is hurt and might miss Tennessee game. Anybody got any info?

"It’s been like everything,” he said. “They have their moments, and right now, nobody’s consistent. (Wednesday), the defense had a good day. (Thursday), if you look at the tape, the offense had a good day. So it’s like nothing’s consistent.”

Johnson recognized the difficulty to maintain focus and energy at this point, when the season opener against Tennessee is almost four weeks away and players have been through three consecutive practices in full pads.

“Now’s the time where you’ve really got to push through,” he said. “You get close to game week, it’s easy. Everybody gets excited when they can see the game coming or whatever, but we’ve got to get there.”

Is it usual to have people who just don't practice? That seems weird to me.
You talking about his comment about Cortez? That's Cortez Alston, a true Fr. DT. May have an injury or something that keeps him from practicing and competing for a job, which would mean he'll just redshirt.

I love how much CPJ loves that nobody knows who our QB will be.

I would make them change numbers the day of the game to make things more confusing.

I agree, seems strange that we have so many guys just not practicing...
But you have to understand where we are. Getting closer to the first game, the guys have been practicing for weeks now and that's brutal on the body. You want to give rest where you can. Practicing is essential, but it's not essential if it's going to potentially create a more serious injury and cost playing time. Doesn't mean those guys sitting out aren't working out and running and all

It seemed like there were more than that. He said something about Clinton Lynch not practicing as well, to the point where he might not even play. That, to me, was super worrisome. I thought there were one or two others in addition, but don't recall specifics off the top of my head.

he drops those lines just to spur some of those kids on. JJ Green and Clinton Lynch were both out. A player probably feels when he is nicked that sitting out is beneficial to them more than another day of reps. A coach probably thinks about it more from, "yeah you're dinged, but you need to fight through it and be out there."

So he drops comments like "right now he's not a starter" to push kid. We all know Clinton, if healthy, should be starting with Qua. He knows that, too, and it could lead to complacency.

When is the eclipse? That man stays focused on coaching his team. It's hard to get a read on how he really feels about the upcoming season. My guess is that there really are question marks concerning personnel decisions and that he knows September will be a challenging and crucial month. I think with VPI, the U, Clemson and UGA to play among others in October/November we need to be 5-0/4-1 to have a great season and at least 3-2 to avoid a bad season. That's a good bit of pressure.

If Kenny Cooper is the best OL we have this year, we're going to have a really good OL.
Is that a knock on KC?

To me, a complement would be "If Kenny Cooper is the worst OL we have this year, we're going to have a really good OL". Meaning Cooper is a stud and if he's the worst then the others must be super studs.

It's a compliment. Braun was fresh all american and we know he can ball so if Cooper is better that is awesome news

Parker Braun is great. Will Bryan is very good. If Cooper is better than those two, that is big. Marshall (out for UT but don't think its serious beyond that) is a Sr that started 9 games last year. Jahaziel Lee started 3 games as a freshman but was disappointing in Spring. Shamire does well in spurts.

We're not particularly deep, especially at tackle, but that's a pretty good starting 5. Need Stickler and the Morgans to step it up.
