Mascot change in the offing for UGAg?

Still makes me smile when it hits me how appropriate that mascot is for that fanbase.

Bulldogs used to look like this:

Even that one isn't quite what I remember seeing. If you look at some of the Dwags oldest mascots, they're big, attractive animals. I really don't understand how the current ones keep being bred without the owners being arrested for animal cruelty.

One of the guys I graduated from HS with breeds the öööö out of the bastards

I just looked and their original mascot was a goat.

The Goat, Feb. 22, 1892

Georgia's mascot for its first football game against Auburn, February 22, 1892 in Atlanta, Ga., was a goat. Old newspaper clippings indicate that the goat wore a black coat with red U.G. letters on each side. He also had on a hat with ribbons all down his high horns, and the Auburn fans yelled throughout the game "shoot the billy-goat."

So they should go back to the goats, UGA fans already make goat sounds during their games:

Despite the fact that ugay's mascot is the bulldog, they are still amusing animals. But, then again, I like most dog breeds.

Maybe it's time for UGA to follow PETA's suggestion that their bulldog mascot be replaced by a robotic one. Their bulldog has just a handful of possible motions (eat, lie on a block of ice, defecate, and drop over dead) to implement. How hard could this be?

http://vet.uga.edu :

"The UGA College of Veterinary Medicine is dedicated to training future veterinarians, conducting research related to animal and human diseases, and providing veterinary services for animals and their owners."
*Except for any unfortunate pooch associated with the UGA football program *
