Why do we not have white facemasks?

What color facemask would you prefer we wear?

I realize this is a non-sequitur given how close we are to the Tennessee game, but as long as I can remember, we've always worn black facemasks. Some of our historical uniform variants have had gray masks, but never white.

Our official primary colors are white and gold. I understand that black and navy can be accent colors, yet you'd figure we'd want to maximize the white and gold on the uniform. So who made the decision to go to black facemasks?

And yes, I understand that once you go black, you'll never go back.
 
I swear I thought this was some kind of Antifa irony BLM post.
 
I voted Other. Should be clear. We are at Georgia Tech, we can do that.
 
Actually, the mask are Blue. Albeit very dark Blue.

Seems as if, a long time ago a White mask was tried on the Gold hat and it didn't seem to have enough contrast. (And actually ugag tried a black mask on their hats with same results)

Now if we ever went with a White hat sans honeycomb, a White mask would look great with proper Adidas inspired Tech Gold stripes.
 
White helmet gold mask would be badass. For gold helmet navy masks we have are fine
 
Right before either the 2014 or 2015 season the billboards we put up around Atlanta showed our guys with white facemasks. At the time I thought it was a uniform change and tried asking around about it but not only did nobody know the story, nobody cared. I don't mind the blue masks, but white would look cool on our whiteout unis and such.
