I was just about to say this. He's currently the DL coach with the Rams. I think he would definitely be interested in coming back.
 
I'm not a roof supporter but how would the defense have altered the outcome of this game? Cpj think we're gonna win this one 7-0? Besides, I don't care who the defensive coordinator is if we can't recruit big defensive lineman then nothing else matters. Cpj was brought here for one reason, and one reason alone - OFFENSE! His beloved offense has completely crapped the bed. Somebody better be evaluating his role!

Seriously, after today's debacle on every facet of the game of football we're supposed to be convinced that all we need is yet another defensive coordinator
 
CPJ scapegoat? Something which makes the DC post attractive is that he’s famously hands off the D. It’s a good opportunity for someone looking to make a name.

CPJ's problem has been that his choices for defensive coordinator have been öööö already at the time of hire. I still remember people here overlooking Roof's horrendous track record as a DC when he was hired. As it stands now, one more subpar season likely costs CPJ his job (and I am an ardent supporter of his), so might as well swing for the fences one more time.
 
If Roof is gone then I suspect Johnson will be on a very short leash next year. Can’t keep blaming DC’s over and over. Seen it happen too much at Texas.

Yeah, 3 strikes and you're out. He's hired 2 dud DCs so far.

As much as I like Coach Johnson, I can't bear for this bad defense to continue for several years
 
If that's the case we may as well move on from CPJ. No DC is changing our DL into a group who would stop Ugag today in under 2 or 3 years. Needs new parts

And no decent coach is going to come into a situation where he might be without a job at the end of the season.
